Strike!

Amazonia goes up in smoke, in Greenland ice cream melted, and the catastrophic drought in Poland cost us more than a billion zlotys. Climate Change is not a distant spectrum. She happens before our eyes.

That is Why just before the IMPORTANT UN climate Summit 16-year-old Greta Thunberg leads children and young people to a climate strike. In Poland and around the world, young people will leave school classes and go to the streets to ask politicians a serious approach to the climate crisis and to move to 100% clean energy as soon as possible.

And all of us – parents and grandparents, brothers and sisters – ask that we join the strike and stand at their side. When young people struggle for the future of life on Earth, we cannot disappoint them! Let us show our support: and join the strike in Poznań!

We will make politicians hear our voices.

We are in solidarity with the youth climate strike and urge the UN and governments around the world: to announce a climate alarm and to take the necessary action to move the world economy to 100% of clean energy as soon as possible.

Greta sailed a small yacht across the Atlantic to lead strikes just before the United Nations summit in New York. Since last summer, she started a Friday climate strike, with millions of pupils and schoolgirls from all over the world joining it, but it also encountered trolls and attacks.

When the Polish delegation and the leaders of the whole world meet in New York, we can show great support for children and young people who struggle for a safe climate and a healthy planet for all of us. This is an important moment! As foreseen by the Paris climate agreement, all countries need to announce concrete plans to fight the climate crisis – but they will do little as usual until they feel tremendous public pressure.

That's why we start today. Let us go to the Polish youth,  on Friday 20th September in Plac Wolności,  Poznań and many other Polish cities. Let us go along with them and ask the Polish delegation to move to 100% of clean energy before embarking on the New York Summit. Join the youth strike in Poznan!

Fires, drought, people dying from heat – the scale and seriousness of this crisis is overwhelming. But scientists say that we still have time to turn back from this path if only the authorities of our countries start listening to citizens and not fuel companies. We have already helped to organize the biggest climate mobilizing in history. We will join everyone in the climate strike of Polish youth and let this protest be even bigger!

Właśnie dlatego tuż przed WAŻNYM szczytem klimatycznym ONZ 16-letnia Greta Thunberg prowadzi dzieci i młodzież do strajku klimatycznego.

Pokażmy nasze wsparcie: dołącz do strajku w Poznaniu!

To ważny moment!

Dlatego zaczynamy dzisiaj. Dołącz do strajku młodzieży w Poznaniu!

Dołączymy do wszystkich w strajku klimatycznym polskiej młodzieży i niech ten protest będzie jeszcze większy!

Hi David and Joan, words fail me for you outbursts, the political correct police could arrest you for alleging that it is a she, Greta Thunberg arrived in the US and was greeted by a dozen odd people, the fraud about arriving by boat to the US to save on Carbon Dioxide where the 4 boat crew had to fly back home, what nonsense. Can I suggest you open the bottle of vodka you received and enjoy with Joan, when you finish please go onto your verandah with Joan and yell out that the world will not end (Joan looks to have a strong voice) don't stop till all the lights in the neighbourhood are alight. What a shame that adults are brainwashing the young. Please answer me, what would you propose to do?????

  2. Hello Anonymous, Yes, the Amazon may be an "it". Yes, Joan does have a stong vice on the subject, similar to mine. The youth are not so dumb to be brainwashed. They can see, read, feel and hear what is happening. Do not make the mistake that they cannot form their own opinions. What would I do? Reduce the amount of CO2 going into the atmosphere from fossil fuels. Put a higher tax on fossil fuel companies and use the money to help poorer countries convert to alternative sources of energy. Reduce and eliminate the use of coal and provide mone money for training in other areas of work like wind, solar or hydro-electric. Stop the import of brown coal from Russia and Mozambique. Krakow is the first city to ban the use of coal-burning in homes because of air pollution. Return to the use of glass instead of plastic bottles, paper bags instead of plastic bags. And you? You are satisfied with the way things are?
