The flower in your picture i...Dear Joan and David,<br /><br />The flower in your picture is Amarylis. They are perennial and grow from the bulb a little similar to onion. They can be different colors - white, pink, peach and striped. In Florida you do not need to dig them up, in very cold parts of the country you have to dig them up. They are dormant all winter and in spring they show their colors.
