Sorry about the NO Blog yesterday but it was a most unusual 72nd birthday for us. I may have mentioned in past blogs the last two years that I have been having head aches. This past February I had 3, March,7, and already this month, 13. Obviously they have been increasing in numbers but also in strength. In the last three days I had 5, all strong ones and yesterday one started at 11:30 and wouldn't go away. Remembering how it was for Joan when she had her aneurysm many years ago I was concerned about my own head aches. Usually I take an over the counter medicine, APAP, and in 30 minutes the ache goes away but this time it didn't. I called my neurologist, told him what was happening and he told me to come to the emergency room at the hospital where he works and he would meet me there. So, at 16:30 I took a taxi and went there. After registering, they called him and he came down to see me. He did the preliminary exam and said it was good but wanted me to stay for blood tests which were done shortly after the examination. I waited there for an hour or so for the results. My normal blood pressure of 120/70 was at 148/100 so almost at the high level. He said it was probably due to anxiety and waited another half hour to take it again. It was down to 138/90. He said the blood test showed I had had an infection but didn't know where it was and it was probably already over with. He also said the headaches may be caused by the tremors I have and a medication I take for that. His temporary remedy was to prescribe a medicine to prevent the headaches plus a medicine to calm any discomfort in my stomach that the first prescribed medicine might cause. He said to take these two medicines for the next week and then come to his office and tell him if they worked. If they do not work then he will do an MRI to further examine the problem. On a calendar I keep track of headaches and he was amazed at the details I told him as to what specific days I had them, where on my head I had them and how long they lasted. He said, normally patients of his don't keep that information. He doesn't think the headaches are related to symptoms of an aneurysm but maybe the tremors I have dealt with the last 30 years. After I was done I took a taxi back home, the headache was gone but this morning I woke up with another one, took APAP again, went back to bed and then work up without a headache. I started the preventive medicine and now will wait to see if it works. If anything changes before I see him again, he said to call and he would do the MRI at that time.
Mo偶e ju偶 wspomnia艂em w poprzednich blogach, 偶e ci膮gu ostatnich dw贸ch lat mia艂em b贸le g艂owy. W lutym mia艂em 3, w marcu, 7, a ju偶 w tym miesi膮cu 13. W ci膮gu ostatnich trzech dni mia艂em 5, wszystkie silne i wczoraj jeden z nich rozpocz膮艂 si臋 o godzinie 11:30 i nie min膮艂. Pami臋taj膮c, jak Joan mia艂a t臋tniaka wiele lat temu by艂em zaniepokojony moimi b贸lami g艂owy. Zadzwoni艂em do mojego neurologa, powiedzia艂em mu, co si臋 dzieje, a on kaza艂 mi przyj艣膰 na izb臋 przyj臋膰 w szpitalu, gdzie pracuje i 偶e tam si臋 spotkamy. Tak wi臋c, o godzinie 16:30 wzi膮艂em taks贸wk臋 i pojecha艂em do szpitala. Po rejestracji, wezwali go i on do mnie przyszed艂. Moje normalne ci艣nienie krwi wynosi 120/70, a by艂o 148/100 wi臋c na do艣膰 wysokim poziomie. Powiedzia艂, 偶e to prawdopodobnie z powodu l臋ku i czekali艣my kolejne p贸艂 godziny, aby je zmierzy膰 ponownie. Spad艂o do 138/90. Powiedzia艂, 偶e badanie krwi wykaza艂o, 偶e mia艂em infekcj臋, ale nie wiedzia艂, gdzie ona by艂a i 偶e ju偶 mam to poza sob膮. Powiedzia艂 te偶, 偶e b贸le g艂owy mog膮 by膰 spowodowane moim dr偶eniem ale te偶 przez leki, kt贸re na to bior臋. Powiedzia艂, aby bra膰 te dwa leki przez nast臋pny tydzie艅, a nast臋pnie przyj艣膰 do gabinetu i powiedzie膰 mu, jak dzia艂aj膮. Je艣li nie poskutkuje, to zrobi rezonans magnetyczny w celu dalszego przeanalizowania problemu. On by艂 zdumiony szczeg贸艂owymi adnotacjami na temat moich b贸l贸w g艂owy, jakie mia艂em w kalendarzu. Powiedzia艂em mu, jak te b贸l przebiega艂 w poszczeg贸lnych dniach , w kt贸rym miejscu w g艂owie si臋 pojawia艂 i jak d艂ugo trwa艂. On nie s膮dzi, 偶e b贸le s膮 zwi膮zane z objawami t臋tniaka ale mo偶e z dr偶eniami, z kt贸rymi mam do czynienia w ci膮gu ostatnich 30 lat. Po wszystkim wzi膮艂em taks贸wk臋 do domu, b贸l g艂owy znikn膮艂, ale dzi艣 rano z nim si臋 obudzi艂em, wzi膮艂em APAP, wr贸ci艂em do 艂贸偶ka, a potem pracowa艂em bez b贸lu g艂owy. Zacz膮艂em stosowa膰 leki prewencyjne, a teraz b臋d臋 czeka膰, aby zobaczy膰, czy dzia艂aj膮. Je艣li nic si臋 nie zmieni do czasu wizyty u niego, powiedzia艂, aby do niego zadzwoni膰 i on w tym czasie zrobi rezonans.
