Road Trip!!

Our meeting with Z today in Kandulski's was spent planning our trip to England. We'll leave on a Saturday morning at 6AM, drive through Germany and then France to Calais. We'll spend the night there and in the morning take the ferry to Dover, then drive two hours to RedHill where we will be staying with friends. We have plans for one day in Northleace, one day in Luton and the rest of the time in London and surrounding areas. It should be an interesting trip. It's the first time for me but Joan has been there before, earlier in her life.

I bought a Sony digital recorder and plan on using it in my genealogy research. My hope is to record the remembrances of older cousins, their stories of life in Poland and what they remember about our ancestors, parents and grandparents. I've heard some of the stories but want to have it on recording also for future generations to hear if they would be interested. I think it's a good idea. With a USB cable and the accompanying software I can download them to the computer, turn them into MP3 files and save them.

Nasze spotkanie z Z dzisiaj w Kandulski był czas spędzony planowania naszej podróży do Anglii. Zostawimy w sobotę rano o 6 rano, przejazd przez Niemcy i Francję do Calais. Będziemy spędzić tam noc, a rano promem do Dover, a następnie jechać dwie godziny Redhill, gdzie będziemy przebywać z przyjaciółmi. Mamy plany na jeden dzień w Northleace, jeden dzień w Luton, a reszta czasu w Londynie i okolicach. Należy ciekawą wycieczkę. Jest to dla mnie pierwszy raz, ale Joan był tam wcześniej, wcześniej w swoim życiu.

Kupiłem Sony dyktafon cyfrowy i planujesz używać go w moim badań genealogicznych. Mam nadzieję, zapis wspomnień starszych kuzynów, ich historie życia Polska i co pamiętają o naszych przodkach, rodziców i dziadków. Słyszałem opowieści, ale chcesz mieć to na nagrywanie również dla przyszłych pokoleń, by usłyszeć, czy byliby zainteresowani. Myślę, że to dobry pomysł. Za pomocą kabla USB oraz oprogramowania towarzyszącego mogę pobrać je do komputera, wyłącz je do plików MP3 i zapisywać je.
