Chick Corea

After reading "You are in Poznań" I discovered one of my favorite jazz pianists, Chick Corea, will be performing in Poznań on March 29th of this year. I immediately went to an online ticket service here and bought 2 tickets in the second row for the performance.  I surprised Joan when she woke up this morning with the news.  It's been many, many years since we last heard him perform live in Chicago with his group "Return to Forever".  I just couldn't pass this one up.  I'm hoping to be able to sneak backstage after the show and talk with him. I feel like a teeny-bopper going to see the Beatles :-)

A lot of construction projects are being started this month in connection with the coming Euro 2012 games.  Lengthening PST to the Poznań Central Station, modernization of the public transport and alteration of Grunwaldzka Street, construction of a tram line to Franowo as well as the Interactive Centre of the History of Ostrów Tumski are all on the list.  They are also adding 32 new bike stands around the city.

It's also the month for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity to put on it's annual drive for donations to buy medical equipment for children's hospitals.  It started in 1992 and up to this time has collected over 70 million dollars for equipment.  It's really an incredible event with music groups performing, light show, catering, food and thousands of volunteers who walk the streets of Poznań with special cans asking for donations.  It's almost unthinkable to turn them down for this cause.

I natychmiast udał się do usługi online i kupił bilet o 2 bilety w drugim rzędzie do wykonania. I zaskoczony Joan kiedy obudził się rano z wiadomością. Minęło wiele lat od ostatniego go słyszeli na żywo w Chicago ze swoją grupą "Return to Forever ". Nie mogłam przekazać to uczynił. Mam nadzieję być w stanie podkraść się za kulisami po koncercie i porozmawiaj z nim. Czuję się jak małe, Bopper żeby zobaczyć Beatles :-)

Wiele projektów budowlanych są rozpoczęte w tym miesiącu w związku z wejściem Euro 2012 gier. Przedłużenie PST do dworca PKP Poznań Główny, modernizacji transportu publicznego oraz zmianę ulicy Grunwaldzkiej, budowa linii tramwajowej na Franowo oraz Interaktywne Centrum Historii Ostrowa Tumskiego są na liście. Są one również dodanie 32 nowych rowerów stoi po mieście.

Jest to również miesiąc dla Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy umieścić na niej roczne napęd na datki na zakup equiptment medycznych dla szpitali dziecięcych. Wszystko zaczęło się w 1992 roku i do tego czasu zebrał ponad 70 milionów dolarów za equiptment. To naprawdę niesamowite wydarzenie z grupy muzyczne wykonujące, pokaz świetlny, catering, jedzenie i tysiące ochotników, którzy chodzą po ulicach Poznania specjalne puszki z prośbą o datki. To niemal nie do pomyślenia, aby włączyć je do tej sprawy.
