Radek is still not back from his trip to Chile, so I had no Spanish time with him this week.
It's that time again. Joan has a Permanent EU resident ID card that allows her to stay in Poland indefinitely. However, the card itself has to be renewed every 5 years. Hers expires in September. So, I have to fill out a new application and include ALL of the information from the very first time we filled it out. Fortunately, I kept a copy of the last form and can just copy the same, updated information. I do need to have an official translator translate the reasons why Joan wants to stay. I want to submit it early because now there is a long delay due to the number of Ukrainian immigrants filing for visas or temporary resident permits. As long as they have the application and I have a statement they have it, when she actually receives it is immaterial.
Większość zakupów spożywczych zrobiłem ponownie w Carrefourze, co kosztowało 137 PLN (35 USD). Musiałem zrobić wycieczkę do rzeźnika w Bystrym, aby kupić wołowinę potrzebną do spaghetti i klopsików. 500 gr. wołowiny kosztowało 36 zł ($9) za 1/2 funta.
Radek wciąż nie wrócił z podróży do Chile, więc w tym tygodniu nie spędziłem z nim czasu po hiszpańsku.
Znów nadszedł ten czas. Joan ma kartę stałego pobytu w UE, która pozwala jej pozostać w Polsce na czas nieokreślony. Jednak sama karta musi być odnawiana co 5 lat. Jej ważność wygasa we wrześniu. Muszę więc wypełnić nowy wniosek i podać w nim WSZYSTKIE informacje z pierwszego wniosku. Na szczęście zachowałem kopię ostatniego formularza i mogę po prostu skopiować te same, zaktualizowane informacje. Muszę mieć oficjalnego tłumacza, który przetłumaczy powody, dla których Joan chce zostać. Chcę złożyć wniosek wcześniej, ponieważ obecnie jest duże opóźnienie ze względu na liczbę ukraińskich imigrantów ubiegających się o wizy lub zezwolenia na pobyt czasowy. Dopóki mają wniosek, a ja mam oświadczenie, że go mają, nie ma znaczenia, kiedy faktycznie go otrzyma.
David, small correction: 500grams is a bit over 1 pound ( not 1/2 lb). However, it is still shocking because I buy organic, grass-fed beef at Aldi for $5.35 a pound!

Yes, you're right. I meant to write 1/2 kg. As you can tell by the price difference, inflation is still high in Poland. Thanks for your comment.
