Only 20 PLN.

At 8:00 I arrived at the repair shop to have the Panda checked. Because of Covid-19, you can't enter to register. I had to talk, from outside, through a window to register and the wait outside until they could tell me something. It's a good thing it wasn't raining. A few minutes later a mechanic came and took my car inside. 10 minutes passed before he came back out to tell me it was only a burned-out taillight that caused the yellow caution sign. Evidently, that is part of the stabilization system. He replaced the bulb and the sign disappeared. Total cost, 20 PLN($5). I was happy and returned home.

I had an interesting conversation with someone who knows Russian people in Poland and he said their biggest fear was the United States. They don't trust Trump because he changes his mind all the time. That is ONLY of the one reason why many Americans don't trust him, including Joan and me.

Tomorrow is food shopping day and this time Joan prepared the menu and the shopping list. It's also a time to check my weight. I gained 3 lbs(1.3 Kg) the last time I checked. That is good.

On this very nice autumn day, I had to take Joan for a walk. Bartosz was here at 12:00 and after he was done working with Joan, we went back down the stairs and walked around the neighborhood. The different leg exercises we are doing are making her legs stronger, it's more of a balance problem still.

I just received news from Joan's cousin in Oregon that the out of control forest fires are not just in California. The town just west of them has been completely burned down and they have bee notified to evacuate but there is no place safe to go. Firefighters are trying to prevent it from moving east to their house.

O 8:00 przybyłem do warsztatu, żeby sprawdzić Pandę. Kilka minut później przyjechał mechanik i zabrał mój samochód do środka. Minęło 10 minut, zanim wrócił i powiedział mi, że to tylko spalone tylne światło spowodowało żółty znak ostrzegawczy. Najwyraźniej jest to część systemu stabilizacji. Wymienił żarówkę i znak zniknął. Całkowity koszt 20 zł (5 USD). Byłem szczęśliwy i wróciłem do domu.

Costo total, 20 PLN ($ 5). Estaba feliz y regresé a casa.

Hi David and Joan, thanks for your response and comments, I suppose all people you speak to in poland end up having a negative opinion of Trump, you have been a victim of the fake media and left wing influences, you can’t use the defence of if you believe in the lie then it’s not a lie. Now David it’s time to correct this and start enjoying life, could I suggest electric shock treatment (not for Joan yet) it’s time to get your brain kick started and working in the RIGHT direction, haven’t heard of any drugs or medications to get the desired result, and forget about hitting the whiskey bottle or drugs as in the days of old. Remember old methods are somethings the best methods .
I don’t think Russian people who support Putin would have much time for Trump, and respond in the same way as people respond to Putin, in that he cannot be trusted.
It may also be good therapy if you could attend a Trump rally in person, this could be a game changer.. take care anon1

  2. Anon 1, as always, your comments amuse me. Thank you for your recommendation of shock treatment but I have had enough in the last 4 years of Trumpism. Fortunately, it will soon be over. Oh yes, I will fly back just to attend a Trump defeat. It will be a glorious party in the U.S. The "creature" will be gone, hopefully to jail with his family. There will be joy throughout the world, except maybe Poland, North Korea, and Russia. I will bring you back an autographed picture from the new President, Joe Biden.

  3. I got to agree with Anonymous! Your posts show that you have been taken in by fake news! Trump has actually done great things for this country. Biden wants to get rid of "systemic racism," yet HE was in the system for 47 years. He authored the 1994 Crime Bill which is part of the problem today. He is a racist who says that "poor children are just as smart as white children" and tells black people that if they don't vote for him they aren't black! Imagine the nerve of a white guy telling a black guy how to be black! Biden is a MARXIST who will be a disaster for this country. I am proudly voting for Trump!

  4. Hello, Tory. So, you're voting for a misogynistic, pathological liar, racist, egotistical, narcissistic buffoon for President. You don't care he makes fun of the disabled, calls war veterans suckers and losers, alienated our allies, wants to stop SS and Medicare, and has hidden the truth about the dangerous virus. Congratulations! Fortunately, there are more of us who do care. Biden/Harris 2020! :-)

  5. It's not a matter of not caring. It's a matter of not believing the fake news media that spreads lies about Trump. For example, there is zero evidence that he called veterans suckers and losers. These were all "anonymous" sources. Even CNN's Brian Stelter has come out and told these "anonymous" sources to basically 'put up or shut up.' Also, a number of people who were actually there when this supposedly happened, like John Bolton (who is no friend to Trump), have said it didn't happen.

He is hardly a racist--he won the Rosa Parks award and has donated a lot of money to help minorities in the US.

I could go on. There is so much more to say.

It is important to make our decisions rationally, based upon careful research, and not allow the corrupt media to guide our thoughts. Our Republic depends upon it.

After my careful research, Trump gets my vote.

Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’
The president has repeatedly disparaged the intelligence of service members and asked that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades, multiple sources tell The Atlantic.

Why diddn't you find that in your

"He is hardly a racist--he won the Rosa Parks award and has donated a lot of money to help minorities in the US." There NO Rosa Parks award.

Donald Trump won an award in the 1980s called the Ellis Island Medal of Honor that has provided fodder for false online claims, in part because it resulted in a photo of him standing next to famous American icons Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali. Parks and Ali were both well-known black civil rights activists, but Trump didn’t win the prize for his "work within the black community," Source-The Poynter Institue.

Trump was one of 87 people to be honored with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1986 for his successful work as a developer in New York City, not for his work within the black community. Source AP News.

Why didn't you find that in your careful research? No matter. You vote for Trump, I'll vote for Biden and we will cancel out the votes. Thanks for being a reader. :-)

  7. Hello again, Tory...from your own TV channel.
Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano cited his decades of friendship with President Donald Trump in an op-ed published Thursday, writing that he believes the president likely referred to military veterans as "losers" and "suckers" as alleged by anonymous sources in a controversial report by The Atlantic.

"Trump's denials have been both ferocious and frivolous. He has attacked media figures who are merely reporting what credible sources have told them. He also denied calling the late Sen. John McCain 'a loser' because he was captured, confined, and tortured by the North Vietnamese," he wrote. "Many networks—including Fox—then ran clips of Trump calling McCain a loser, and Trump stopped denying it."

  10. Tory, thanks for the last 10 years. We will just have to agree to disagree on our voting choices. Either way, I will be glad when Nov. 3rd has passed. I am tired of it all.

  11. Hi David,

My response to you, in which I refute the claim that Trump called vets losers with John Bolton's own words, and the claim that Trump is a racist? And in which I tell you I have been a reader for 10 years? Was it too long?

Anyway, thank you for your blog, and for giving us a heads-up that you are about to engage in a rant.

Also, about the Covid death rate, don't forget that the US is the 3rd most populous nation. Our death rate is actually .0299% which is below the world average of .033%, and well below the death rate of *many* other countries. Only Israel, New Yealand, Australia, South Korea, Japan and Norway have a better death rate than the US. Poland and Austria are very close! :)

  12. Hi Tory. No, your comments were not too long. I'm happy to exchange my thought, even when we disagree. I'm keeping only Saturdays for ranting. I could easily do it every day because of the current president but that is not the purpose of my blog.

Whether the death is .029 or.033, it could have been lower by now if you know who wouldn't have lied about it all along.

Keep commenting whenever you want. :-)

  14. Right now Trump is concentrating on wining the Peace Prize because Obama won one and he is jealous. He doesn't care about how many people have gotten sick or died, as long as he is not one of them. He has a hissy fit when he finds out someone that had close contact with him gets the virus, because it put him in danger of getting it. You notice how he distances himself from the crowds but doesn't even encourage his crowd to wear masks.
It's hard to dispute what he says when it is on video tape. If he called McCain a loser its hard to doubt he called all disabled and deceased veterans losers and suckers. He said himself that he likes people that weren't captured and didn't want disabled veterans in his parade. He said people didn't want to see that. He's the one that doesn't want to see it because it would take the focus off of him.
It's downright funny that when his supporters hear something negative about Trump that they don't want to hear or believe, then they call it Fake News, because they can't deny it.
My suggestion to Trump supporters is keep drinking the kool-aid or the disinfectant Trump suggested which ever is their drink of choice.
    Helen

  15. Hi David!

I hope you are having a great Sunday!
I am glad my posts aren't too long. I'm not sure why my last one didn't get posted--the one with links to Jesse Jackson thanking Trump for all he has done for the African American community, and the list of philanthropic work that he has done for blacks. You know, the one where I admit that I got the name of the award wrong, but that the Ellis Island Medal of Honor which Trump was awarded is given for "patriotism, tolerance, brotherhood and diversity," and that they do not give those awards to racists.
Also, where I gave you a link to John Bolton (no friend of Trump) who said regarding the allegation that Trump called vets losers and suckers, that that *never* happened, since he was present when it supposedly happened. Well that was the recap.

Now, about the death rate which you dismiss. Right now, we are well below the death rate of most other western countries:
    Italy 0.123
    The UK 0.112
    Belgium 0.107
    Mexico 0.106
    France 0.076
    the Neth 0.073
    Canada 0.066
    Spain 0.052
    Finland 0.039
    Germany 0.035
    The US 0.0299
    Poland 0.0295

So are you upset with the leaders of these other countries who had much higher death rates?
Biden would not have done better. In fact, the 2009 Swine flu record shows he would have done worse. We are at the 8 month mark for Covid, and have 6.4 million cases. At the 8 month mark for Swine flu, there were more than *50* million cases! With Covid, have almost 10 times *fewer* cases for a *more* contagious disease. If the numbers are all Trump's fault, then I think we owe him a big thank you!

And as to the allegation that he lied, that is more election year fake news. He was trying not to alarm people. I have a list, with links of the actions that he took and the dates, as well as Fauci saying that Trump *did* take it seriously. I'd be happy to send it to you.

Hi David and Joan, thanks also to Tory, nice to see that there arę still some people left who haven’t been brainwashed by the left media, David doesn’t always post my post? now Trump is being blammed for the bush fires, Poland is a good friend of Trump, and he has done and is doing great things, I pity the world if Biden wins anon1

    ReplyDelete
  18. anon1, You are right, I didn't always post your comments because, in the beginning, you were insulting. Trump is not being blamed for the fires. He is being blamed for not doing anything to stop them. Get your facts right, but then that is expected. I pity the world if Trump is elected. Polan is a friend because they have similar dictators but Poland's isn't even a government official, only a party leader, like the "old" days.
