La Weranda

 

 For some years now, every now and then we go to the La Weranda restaurant that is located in the middle of Paderewskiego street. We liked it because it was separated into little rooms and conversation was easier.

When our friend, Garrett, asked if we could meet with him, I suggested La Weranda or the Cat Cafe.  He chose Weranda so we agreed to pick him up today at 13:30(1:30 PM) at his flat. He is still using crutches because of his ankle injury and we thought it would b easier for him.

We arrived by 14:00 at the restaurant and because we haven't been there in quite a while, I was surprised that now they have an entrance directly from the street.

It used to be that you had to pass through a small entrance passage by small shops before you reached the restaurant. However, that was not the only difference.The restaurant has been completely remodeled and now stand alone, away from the small shops. It has one large room and two large rooms at the back.

Joan and I were in a coffee/ciasto mood so we ordered apple pie/w ice cream and Garrett order a ravioli salad.

Our order was amazing. it was actually apple pie, a big slice of it, with 1 scoop of ice cream, lots of whipped cream and whit sauce on the side. Even more surprising was the cost, 29 PLN. At Sowas, when we have cake and coffee, the cost is 28 PLN but the size of the cake is half the size that the pie was. The only negative I would say are the chairs. They are extremely uncomfortable wooden chairs that alienate the lower portion of your body in about 15 seconds. However, the pie and ice cream is worth another visit.

Od kilku lat co jakiś czas chodzimy do restauracji La Weranda, która znajduje się w połowie ulicy Paderewskiego. Lubiliśmy ją, bo była podzielona na małe salki i łatwiej się rozmawiało.

Kiedy nasz przyjaciel, Garrett, zapytał, czy moglibyśmy się z nim spotkać, zasugerowałem La Werandę lub Cat Cafe.  Wybrał Werandę, więc zgodziliśmy się odebrać go dziś o 13:30 pod jego mieszkaniem. Nadal używa kul z powodu kontuzji kostki i pomyśleliśmy, że tak będzie mu łatwiej.

Do restauracji dotarliśmy przed 14:00, a ponieważ nie byliśmy tam od dłuższego czasu, byłem zaskoczony, że teraz mają wejście bezpośrednio z ulicy.

Wcześniej trzeba było przejść przez małe przejście obok małych sklepów, zanim dotarło się do restauracji. Jednak to nie była jedyna różnica. Restauracja została całkowicie przebudowana i teraz stoi samotnie, z dala od małych sklepów. Ma jedną dużą salę i dwa duże pokoje z tyłu.

Joan i ja byłyśmy w nastroju na kawę/ciasto, więc zamówiłyśmy szarlotkę/lody, a Garrett sałatkę ravioli.

Nasze zamówienie było niesamowite. W rzeczywistości była to szarlotka, duży kawałek, z 1 gałką lodów, dużą ilością bitej śmietany i białym sosem z boku. Jeszcze bardziej zaskakująca była cena, 29 zł. W Sowas, kiedy mamy ciasto i kawę, koszt wynosi 28 zł, ale rozmiar ciasta jest o połowę mniejszy niż ciasto. Jedynym minusem są krzesła. Są to bardzo niewygodne drewniane krzesła, które zrażają dolną część ciała w około 15 sekund. Jednak ciasto i lody są warte kolejnej wizyty.
