Moringa.

There is an "organization" here that is SUPPOSED to offer cleaning services to people who pass their requirements. I applied for it 2 months ago and had an interview. It is calledMOPR. We were qualified because of Joan's health. A Ukrainian lady was supposed to come twice a week. She did the first week and then I never saw her again. After having contact with them to inform them of the problem, they said they would send a Polish woman today at 11:00. Guess what! She never came. I think they need a better organization and at this point, I will just keep being the cleaning person. I arranged my morning schedule around hers and wasted the whole morning. I don't need any more frustration in my life.

In the afternoon, I made an appointment with our GP doctor because I need a new monthly prescription for Joan's diapers. It will last for one year. It is important because with it I pay half the price for them. It is a benefit of the national health care system.  Also, I  have my ears cleared of wax twice a year and that is free with the system.

I also want to apprise him of the prediabetes treatment. I was taking medicine, Medformax which kept the sugar level normal. Two weeks ago I stopped using it and switched to 2 teaspoons of the powdered leaves of the Moringa tree. My level is also normal. This coming week I am going to decrease the amount and see if my levels get higher. If they do I will go back to using Moringa. If you have no knowledge of the powder, you might want to look it up. It says it is beneficial in other medical problems as well as in general health.

I haven't had one comment in Spanish since I started posting also in that language since I started some months ago. I am assuming I have no Spanish readers so I am going to go back to only Polish translations next Monday.

Jest tu taka "organizacja", która POWINNA oferować usługi sprzątania osobom, które spełnią jej wymagania. Zgłosiłem się do niej 2 miesiące temu i odbyłem rozmowę kwalifikacyjną. Nazywa się to MOPR. Zostaliśmy zakwalifikowani ze względu na stan zdrowia Joanny. Pani z Ukrainy miała przychodzić dwa razy w tygodniu. Przyjeżdżała przez pierwszy tydzień, a potem już jej nie widziałam. Po skontaktowaniu się z nimi i poinformowaniu o problemie, powiedzieli, że przyślą Polkę dzisiaj o 11:00. Zgadnijcie co! Nigdy nie przyszła. Myślę, że potrzebują lepszej organizacji, a w tym momencie ja po prostu będę nadal sprzątać. Ułożyłam swój poranny plan dnia w zależności od jej planu i zmarnowałam cały poranek. Nie potrzebuję więcej frustracji w moim życiu.

Po południu umówiłam się na wizytę u naszego lekarza rodzinnego, ponieważ potrzebuję nowej miesięcznej recepty na pieluchy Joanny. Będzie ona ważna przez rok. Jest to ważne, ponieważ dzięki niej płacę za nie o połowę mniej. Jest to korzyść z krajowego systemu opieki zdrowotnej.  Ponadto dwa razy w roku oczyszczam uszy z woskowiny, a to jest bezpłatne w ramach systemu.

Chcę go również poinformować o leczeniu prediabetes. Brałem lek Medformax, który utrzymywał poziom cukru na normalnym poziomie. Dwa tygodnie temu przestałem go zażywać i zacząłem stosować 2 łyżeczki sproszkowanych liści drzewa Moringa. Mój poziom cukru jest również w normie. W nadchodzącym tygodniu zamierzam zmniejszyć dawkę i sprawdzić, czy poziom cukru wzrośnie. Jeśli tak się stanie, wrócę do stosowania Moringi. Jeśli nie masz wiedzy na temat tego proszku, możesz go poszukać. Piszą, że jest korzystny w innych problemach medycznych, a także w ogólnym stanie zdrowia.

Odkąd kilka miesięcy temu zacząłem publikować wpisy w tym języku, nie miałem ani jednego komentarza w języku hiszpańskim. Zakładam, że nie mam hiszpańskich czytelników, więc w najbliższy poniedziałek wrócę do polskich tłumaczeń.

Hay una "organización" aquí que se supone que ofrece servicios de limpieza a las personas que pasan sus requisitos. Lo solicité hace 2 meses y tuve una entrevista. Se llama MOPR. Nos calificaron por la salud de Joan. Una señora ucraniana debía venir dos veces por semana. Lo hizo la primera semana y luego no la volví a ver. Después de contactar con ellos para informarles del problema, dijeron que enviarían a una mujer polaca hoy a las 11:00. Adivina qué. Nunca vino. Creo que necesitan una mejor organización y a estas alturas, seguiré siendo la persona de la limpieza. He organizado mi horario matutino en torno al de ella y he perdido toda la mañana. No necesito más frustración en mi vida.

Por la tarde, pedí cita con nuestro médico de cabecera porque necesito una nueva receta mensual para los pañales de Joan. Tendrá una duración de un año. Es importante porque con ella pago la mitad del precio por ellos. Es una ventaja del sistema nacional de salud.  Además, me limpian los oídos de cera dos veces al año y eso es gratis con el sistema.

También quiero informarle sobre el tratamiento de la prediabetes. Estaba tomando un medicamento, Medformax, que mantenía el nivel de azúcar normal. Hace dos semanas dejé de usarlo y cambié a 2 cucharaditas de las hojas en polvo del árbol de Moringa. Mi nivel también es normal. Esta semana que viene voy a disminuir la cantidad y ver si mis niveles suben. Si lo hacen, volveré a usar la Moringa. Si no conoces el polvo, podrías buscarlo. Dice que es beneficioso en otros problemas médicos así como en la salud en general.

No he tenido ni un solo comentario en español desde que empecé a publicar también en ese idioma desde hace unos meses. Estoy asumiendo que no tengo lectores en español, así que voy a volver a las traducciones sólo en polaco el próximo lunes.

Jan. 6th hearings.

After listening to the broadcast of the January 6th hearing and communicating with a few of the Trump-favoring cousins in the United States, it only confirmed that nothing will change their minds. Honestly, I don't know who the hearings will have any influence over. Those of us 84 million Americans already know it was a PLANNED insurrection and the other 74 million Trumpers will only listen to their cowardly leader, EX-President Donald Trump. So who will benefit from the hearings?

Joan watched some of the hearing but what too confused trying to follow it. Her sense of logic is slipping away. It's getting really hard to have any kind of logical discussion with her. It is just the effect of this horrible dementia.

Later, after 2 Skype conversations, I had to drive to our old clinic to make a doctor's appointment. It was a nice day so I thought I would take Joan and stop at Plac Wolnosci to watch the people. We sat there for about 2 hours and really didn't want to return home to be inside but we did.

Near our flat is a military air base and I read today that Turkey has sent 2 squadrons of F-16's there and is teaching Polish pilots how to fly them. 

Po wysłuchaniu transmisji z przesłuchania 6 stycznia i rozmowach z kilkoma kuzynami popierającymi Trumpa w Stanach Zjednoczonych potwierdziło się tylko, że nic nie zmieni ich zdania. Szczerze mówiąc, nie wiem, na kogo te przesłuchania będą miały jakikolwiek wpływ. Te z nas, 84 miliony Amerykanów, już wiedzą, że to było PLANOWANE powstanie, a pozostałe 74 miliony Trumpów będą słuchać tylko swojego tchórzliwego przywódcy, byłego prezydenta Donalda Trumpa. Kto zatem skorzysta na przesłuchaniach?

Joan oglądała część przesłuchania, ale była zbyt zdezorientowana, próbując nadążyć za jego przebiegiem. Jej poczucie logiki wymyka się spod kontroli. Coraz trudniej jest prowadzić z nią jakąkolwiek logiczną dyskusję. To tylko efekt tej strasznej demencji.

Później, po dwóch rozmowach przez Skype'a, musiałem pojechać do naszej starej kliniki, aby umówić się na wizytę lekarską. Był ładny dzień, więc pomyślałem, że zabiorę Joan i zatrzymam się na Placu Wolności, żeby popatrzeć na ludzi. Siedziałyśmy tam około dwóch godzin i naprawdę nie chciałyśmy wracać do domu, żeby być w środku, ale udało się.

Niedaleko naszego mieszkania znajduje się wojskowa baza lotnicza i przeczytałem dzisiaj, że Turcja wysłała tam 2 eskadry samolotów F-16 i uczy polskich pilotów, jak nimi latać. 

Después de escuchar la retransmisión de la audiencia del 6 de enero y de comunicarme con algunos de los primos partidarios de Trump en Estados Unidos, sólo confirmé que nada les hará cambiar de opinión. Sinceramente, no sé sobre quién tendrán influencia las audiencias. Los 84 millones de estadounidenses ya sabemos que fue una insurrección PLANIFICADA y los otros 74 millones de trumpistas sólo escucharán a su cobarde líder, el EX presidente Donald Trump. Entonces, ¿quién se beneficiará de las audiencias?

Joan vio algo de la audiencia pero lo que demasiado confundido tratando de seguirlo. Su sentido de la lógica se está perdiendo. Se está volviendo muy difícil tener cualquier tipo de discusión lógica con ella. Es sólo el efecto de esta horrible demencia.

Más tarde, después de 2 conversaciones por Skype, tuve que conducir hasta nuestra antigua clínica para pedir una cita con el médico. Era un buen día así que pensé en llevar a Joan y parar en Plac Wolnosci para ver a la gente. Nos sentamos allí durante unas 2 horas y realmente no queríamos volver a casa para estar dentro, pero lo hicimos.

Cerca de nuestro piso hay una base aérea militar y hoy he leído que Turquía ha enviado allí dos escuadrones de F-16 y está enseñando a los pilotos polacos a pilotarlos. 

Comparison & Blockade.

Yesterday, in the evening, I was sitting on our balcony observing the movement of clouds. In the background was a large mass of white cumulus-nimbus clouds reflecting the light of the disappearing sun. To the west was a much larger mass of dark clouds. The darker clouds were slowly overtaking the white ones. At times, they both seemed to pause but then the larger mass kept moving. It took about 1/2 hour for the dark clouds to completely cover the white ones and obliterate them. I couldn't help but compare them to the war in Ukraine. The white clouds were Ukraine, the dark clouds Russia. At present, Russia has taken away 20% of Ukraine but I think it is only a matter of time before Ukraine's army will be diminished so much that Russia will try to take all of Ukraine. I hope I am wrong.

The American Embassy has been informed of a planned nationwide blockade of Orlen gas stations to take place throughout Poland on Saturday, June 11, 2022.  The purpose of the blockade is to protest Orlen’s rising fuel prices in the Polish market.  There are 21 cities and towns in total that are participating including all major cities. 

On this beautiful weather day, I took Joan outside to find a store that specializes in fish. The reason was the continuing price increases in my usual shopping places. I wanted to see if there was a better selection or price. We found one very close to our flat but parking at the time we were there was impossible so I returned home.

Back home, I kept Joan in the underground parking lot and continued with her exercises the way Bartosz is doing. She is making progress in moving her foot.

Wczoraj, wieczorem, siedziałem na balkonie i obserwowałem ruch chmur. W tle widać było dużą masę białych chmur cumulusowo-nimbusowych, odbijających światło znikającego słońca. Na zachodzie znajdowała się znacznie większa masa ciemnych chmur. Ciemniejsze chmury powoli doganiały białe. Czasami wydawało się, że obie się zatrzymują, ale potem większa masa nadal się przesuwała. Minęło około pół godziny, zanim ciemne chmury całkowicie przykryły białe i zatarły je. Nie mogłem powstrzymać się od porównania ich do wojny na Ukrainie. Białe chmury to Ukraina, ciemne to Rosja. Obecnie Rosja odebrała 20% Ukrainy, ale myślę, że to tylko kwestia czasu, kiedy armia ukraińska zostanie tak osłabiona, że Rosja spróbuje zająć całą Ukrainę. Mam nadzieję, że się mylę.

Ambasada Amerykańska została poinformowana o planowanej ogólnopolskiej blokadzie stacji benzynowych Orlen, która ma się odbyć w całej Polsce w sobotę 11 czerwca 2022 roku.  Celem blokady jest protest przeciwko rosnącym cenom paliw Orlenu na polskim rynku.  W akcji bierze udział w sumie 21 miast i miejscowości, w tym wszystkie większe miasta. 

W ten piękny pogodny dzień zabrałem Joan na zewnątrz, aby znaleźć sklep, który specjalizuje się w rybach. Powodem był ciągły wzrost cen w miejscach, w których zwykle robię zakupy. Chciałem sprawdzić, czy nie ma tam lepszego wyboru lub ceny. Znaleźliśmy sklep bardzo blisko naszego mieszkania, ale nie mogliśmy tam zaparkować, więc wróciłem do domu.

Po powrocie do domu zatrzymałem Joan na parkingu podziemnym i kontynuowałem jej ćwiczenia w sposób, w jaki robi to Bartosz. Joanna robi postępy w poruszaniu stopą.

Ayer, por la tarde, estaba sentado en nuestro balcón observando el movimiento de las nubes. En el fondo había una gran masa de cúmulos-nimbos blancos que reflejaban la luz del sol que desaparecía. Al oeste había una masa mucho mayor de nubes oscuras. Las nubes más oscuras iban superando poco a poco a las blancas. Por momentos, ambas parecían detenerse, pero luego la masa más grande seguía avanzando. Las nubes oscuras tardaron una media hora en cubrir por completo a las blancas y borrarlas. No pude evitar compararlas con la guerra de Ucrania. Las nubes blancas eran Ucrania, las oscuras Rusia. En la actualidad, Rusia se ha llevado el 20% de Ucrania, pero creo que es sólo cuestión de tiempo que el ejército ucraniano se vea tan disminuido que Rusia intente tomar toda Ucrania. Espero estar equivocado.

La Embajada de Estados Unidos ha sido informada de un bloqueo planeado a nivel nacional de las gasolineras Orlen que tendrá lugar en toda Polonia el sábado 11 de junio de 2022.  El propósito del bloqueo es protestar por el aumento de los precios del combustible de Orlen en el mercado polaco.  Hay 21 ciudades y pueblos en total que están participando, incluyendo todas las ciudades principales. 

En este día de buen tiempo, llevé a Joan a buscar una tienda especializada en pescado. El motivo era la continua subida de precios en mis lugares de compra habituales. Quería ver si había una mejor selección o precio. Encontramos una muy cerca de nuestro piso, pero aparcar a la hora que estábamos allí era imposible, así que volví a casa.

De vuelta a casa, mantuve a Joan en el aparcamiento subterráneo y continué con sus ejercicios de la misma manera que lo hace Bartosz. Está haciendo progresos en el movimiento del pie.

Blockade-"There's something happening here".

On Saturday, a nationwide action "We block Orlen". They will also block the stations in Poznań

The organizers clearly explain why they intend to block the gas stations.

- We are not satisfied with Orlen's policy of raising prices on the Polish fuel market despite the dollar exchange rate and the price per barrel of oil. We are also dissatisfied with the government's handling of the problem, even sweeping it under the rug and pulling the wool over people's eyes as if it were not responsible for the current situation," explain the organizers of the We Block Orlen campaign. - Drivers who want to manifest their dissatisfaction with artificially high fuel prices can do so by participating in the "We are blocking Orlen" action which will take place (first "edition") on 11/06/2022 from 16:00 to 18:00 - they add.

Currently, in Poznan's case, the actions are planned on two Orlen stations: at 4A Baltycka and 315 Dabrowskiego St. 

Food shopping day and for next week the cost was 186 PLN($44).

Big news!

 According to information provided by the industry portal dlahandlu.pl, Carrefour is leaving Poland after 25 years of activity.

Following the latest rumors confirmed by different Media sources, the Carrefour Polska branch will be acquired by Mid Europa Partners fund.

Mid Europa, a private equity company operating in Central and Eastern Europe, was a shareholder of the popular Żabka supermarket chain in 2011-2017, and currently it is an investor of Allegro and the Romanian retail chain Profi.

That will be interesting for us because we have been shopping there for 15 years. I also use Lidl but Carrefour had items Lidl didn't. Fruits and vegetables are better bought from Lidl. Carrefour is a French company and they already have another food market chain, Auchan. It is getting more and more difficult to find food stores owned by a Polish firm in Poland.

Another nice weather day so I took Joan outside in the afternoon.

I think I have mentioned that I was diagnosed as prediabetic a month ago. I think it was a bad diagnosis. the reason is that I have been monitoring my blood sugar level for the last week and each check shows a normal range. I have also been taking the crushed(powdered) leaves of the Moringa tree. I believe that is the reason I am normal again.

To będzie dla nas interesujące, bo robimy tam zakupy od 15 lat. Ja również korzystam z Lidla, ale Carrefour miał produkty, których Lidl nie miał. Owoce i warzywa lepiej kupować w Lidlu. Carrefour to firma francuska, która ma już inną sieć marketów spożywczych - jak, Auchan. Coraz trudniej znaleźć w Polsce sklepy spożywcze, których właścicielem jest polska firma. 

Kolejny dzień z ładną pogodą, więc po południu zabrałem Joan na dwór. 

Chyba już wspominałem, że miesiąc temu zdiagnozowano u mnie stan przedcukrzycowy. Myślę, że to była zła diagnoza. Powodem jest to, że przez ostatni tydzień kontrolowałem poziom cukru we krwi i każda kontrola wykazywała normalny zakres. Przyjmuję również zmiażdżone (sproszkowane) liście drzewa Moringa. Según los últimos rumores, confirmados por varios medios de comunicación, la sucursal de Carrefour Polonia será adquirida por el fondo Mid Europa Partners.

Mid Europa, empresa de capital riesgo que opera en Europa Central y del Este, fue accionista de la popular cadena de supermercados Żabka entre 2011 y 2017, y actualmente es inversor en Allegro y en la cadena minorista rumana Profi. 

Esto será interesante para nosotros porque llevamos 15 años comprando allí. Yo también uso Lidl, pero Carrefour tenía productos que Lidl no tenía. Las frutas y verduras se compran mejor en el Lidl. Carrefour es una empresa francesa que ya tiene otra cadena de tiendas de alimentación, como Auchan. Cada vez es más difícil encontrar tiendas de comestibles en Polonia que sean propiedad de una empresa polaca.

Tuesday and Saturday are the days I look forward to.

Tuesday because it is the day I meet with Radek and we talk about a lot of different subjects. We alternate meetings between his house and our flat. When he comes here he always brings some form of pastries. For the first hour we speak English and Joan is with us. The second hour is Spanish time and lately, Joan has been staying to listen in on our lesson. We do have a book we use and follow page by page but Radek adds much more than is written on the page. Usually, after going over a page he will give me sentences that relate to what we just went over and I have to put them in Spanish. It's better to use the verb or noun in a sentence rather than just learn the word.

Saturday is my day for conversations with Joanna, Michal, and Malgorzata. Joanna's is done at her home near Solacki Park and the other two are on Skype. Michal is a lawyer and Malgorzata is a project manager for a furniture manufacturing firm. Individual conversations with them are very different.

Los martes y los sábados son los días que más espero.

El martes porque es el día en que me reúno con Radek y hablamos de muchos temas diferentes. Alternamos los encuentros entre su casa y nuestro piso. Cuando viene, siempre trae algún tipo de pastelería. Durante la primera hora hablamos en inglés y Joan está con nosotros. La segunda hora es de español y últimamente Joan se queda a escuchar nuestra lección. Tenemos un libro que utilizamos y seguimos página por página, pero Radek añade mucho más de lo que está escrito en la página. Por lo general, después de repasar una página me da frases que se relacionan con lo que acabamos de repasar y tengo que ponerlas en español. Es mejor usar el verbo o el sustantivo en una frase que sólo aprender la palabra.

El sábado es mi día de conversaciones con Joanna, Michal y Malgorzata. La de Joanna se hace en su casa, cerca del parque Solacki, y las otras dos por Skype. Michal es abogado y Malgorzata es directora de proyectos en una empresa de fabricación de muebles. Las conversaciones individuales con ellos son muy diferentes.

I washed Joan's hair today and gave her a shower. She was happy about it after it was all over.

For dinner, I made pork chops with gravy, boiled potatoes, and a little salad. Breakfast was a banana, mango, sunflower seeds, walnuts, and coconut milk smoothie. It was good.

At Plac Wolnosci, two young Ukrainian women were singing songs about Ukraine and playing a curious instrument called a Bandura. A bandura is a Ukrainian plucked string folk instrument. It combines elements of the zither and lute and, up until the 1940s, was also often referred to by the term kobza. Early instruments (c. 1700) had 5 to 12 strings and were similar to the lute. In the 20th century, the number of strings increased initially to 31 strings (1926), then to 56 strings – 68 strings on modern 'concert' instruments (1954).

Their voices were excellent and they must have been from some professional organization like an opera.

At the beginning of the day, at 5:30, I couldn't sleep any longer so I got out of bed and listened to a story in Spanish. Then I found a website with some very useful expressions that I will have to learn and use in the context of sentences I make up. There is so much to learn and it makes me feel a little neglectful of the Polish language.

I had my Saturday meeting with my friend Joanna at 8:30 and after I had to go to the Apteka to pick up the monthly supply of diapers. I ordered the usual 3 packages but they only had 2 so I have to go back next week for the additional one.

Today was a market day at Plac Wolnosci and I thought Joan might enjoy looking at something other than TV so I took her there. After pushing her around to the different kiosks, we stopped for coffee and to watch the people.

Back at home, I did 2 clothes washes, made dinner and searched for a movie for us to watch.

Na początku dnia, o 5:30, nie mogłam już zasnąć, więc wstałam z łóżka i wysłuchałam opowiadania po hiszpańsku. Następnie znalazłam stronę internetową z bardzo przydatnymi wyrażeniami, których będę musiała się nauczyć i używać w kontekście wymyślanych przeze mnie zdań. Jest tak wiele do nauczenia się i czuję się trochę zaniedbany przez język polski.

O 8:30 miałam sobotnie spotkanie z moją przyjaciółką Joanną, a po nim musiałam pojechać do Apteki po miesięczny zapas pieluch. Zamówiłam zwykłe 3 paczki, ale mieli tylko 2, więc muszę wrócić w przyszłym tygodniu po dodatkową.

Dzisiaj był dzień targowy na Placu Wolności i pomyślałem, że Joan chętnie popatrzy na coś innego niż telewizja, więc ją tam zabrałem. Po przepchnięciu jej do różnych kiosków zatrzymaliśmy się na kawę i poobserwowaliśmy ludzi.

W domu wyprałem dwa prania, zrobiłem obiad i poszukałem filmu, który moglibyśmy obejrzeć.

Al principio del día, a las 5:30, no pude dormir más, así que me levanté de la cama y escuché un cuento en español. Luego encontré una página web con algunas expresiones muy útiles que tendré que aprender y utilizar en el contexto de las frases que me invente. Hoy era un día de mercado en Plac Wolnosci y pensé que Joan podría disfrutar mirando algo más que la televisión, así que la llevé allí. Después de empujarla por los diferentes quioscos, nos hemos parado a tomar un café y a observar a la gente.

Mimo to nie ma porównania z tym, jakie szkody wyrządza Rosja na Ukrainie. Część winy powinna spoczywać na barkach Zachodu. Fried eggs?

A good day for food shopping, weather-wise. I arrived at Carrefour at 6:30 in the morning but it wasn't open. The security man passed by the door, saw me but kept walking. I waited for10 minutes and then, a little angry, I drove to Lidl to shop. I bought as much as I could from my list but, unfortunately, they didn't have everything. therefore, I went back to Carrefour and this time they were open. When I got back home I checked the website and it still showed Carrefour opened at 06:30. Because of some extras like laundry soap, kleenex, paper towels, and toothpaste the cost totaled 225 PLN.

Yet another mass shooting yesterday in America, the 19th since the beginning of the year. I seriously doubt it will change any Republican's mind about doing what Canada has done and will do. They banned assault weapons and will ban handgun sales in August. That is what a democratic government can do which is not held hostage by the National Rifle Association and politicians who are more worried about re-election than the murder of innocent people and children.

I asked Joan what she wanted for breakfast and she said 2 eggs, "sunny-side up". Of course, that means frying the eggs without turning them over so the egg yolk is still soft. I am great with scrambled eggs but have never cooked them like she wanted. I took a chance and they came out almost perfect.  I was very pleased with myself.

Yesterday, I received a package from a reader, Anna. In it, she sent me some containers of crushed leaves of the Moringa tree she has in her backyard in Florida. Moringa oleifera is a tree that is sometimes called a "Miracle Tree" because all of its parts are used for nutritional, and pharmacological properties. moringa has many important vitamins and minerals. The leaves have 7 times more vitamin C than oranges and 15 times more potassium than bananas. It also has calcium, protein, iron, and amino acids, which help your body heal and build muscles. For me, it is important because it can also be used lower sugar levels in your blood. I take a pill now named Medforrmax which does that also but I would rather have a more natural way. This is only one occasion when one of my readers has helped me and I am grateful, there are many others.

Moringa oleifera to drzewo, które czasami nazywane jest "cudownym drzewem", ponieważ wszystkie jego części są wykorzystywane ze względu na właściwości odżywcze i farmakologiczne. moringa zawiera wiele ważnych witamin i minerałów. Otro tiroteo masivo ayer en Estados Unidos, el decimonoveno desde el comienzo del año. Dudo seriamente que esto haga cambiar de opinión a ningún republicano para hacer lo que Canadá ha hecho y hará. Prohibieron las armas de asalto y prohibirán la venta de armas de mano en agosto. Eso es lo que puede hacer un gobierno democrático que no es rehén de la Asociación Nacional del Rifle y de políticos que están más preocupados por la reelección que por el asesinato de personas y niños inocentes.

Le pregunté a Joan qué quería desayunar y me dijo que dos huevos, "soleados". Por supuesto, eso significa freír los huevos sin darles la vuelta para que la yema esté todavía blanda. Se me dan muy bien los huevos revueltos, pero nunca los he cocinado como ella quería. Me arriesgué y salieron casi perfectos.  Estaba muy satisfecha conmigo misma.

Ayer recibí un paquete de una lectora, Anna. En él, me envió unos recipientes con hojas trituradas del árbol de Moringa que tiene en su patio trasero en Florida. La Moringa oleifera es un árbol que a veces se llama "árbol milagroso" porque todas sus partes se utilizan por sus propiedades nutricionales y farmacológicas. Awake this morning at 8:00, I went across the street with our car to get a running light replaced. It took 15 minutes and 50 PLN for the short work to be done and I was back at home before Joan woke. At 9:30 I started preparing Joan for the visit from Bartosz and her "dreaded" physical therapy. She is not very enthusiastic about it no matter how much I talk to her.

We watched a YouTube video about the Trans-Siberian Railroad tour. It would be interesting to travel it but at this time, impossible.

Dzisiaj rano obudziłem się o 8:00, pojechałem naszym samochodem na drugą stronę ulicy, aby wymienić żarówkę. Krótka robota zajęła 15 minut i 50 zł, a ja byłem z powrotem w domu, zanim Joan się obudziła. O 9:30 zacząłem przygotowywać Joan na wizytę Bartosza i jej "straszną" fizykoterapię. Nie jest do niej entuzjastycznie nastawiona, niezależnie od tego, jak bardzo ją namawiam. 

Obejrzeliśmy na YouTube film o podróży koleją transsyberyjską. Byłoby ciekawie pojechać nią, ale w tej chwili jest to niemożliwe.

Radek and I talked about the inflation, the war in Ukraine, the latest Texas school massacre, and then for the second hour, it was Spanish. I record all of our Spanish time and then relisten to it during the week. I don't know why but sometimes the recorder turns itself off. I went into the settings on the phone and set the screen to stay vivid for a long time so I can observe the recording.

In the afternoon, I had an appointment at 16:00(4 PM) with my urologist for my semi-annual checkup. I gave him my latest PSA blood test and he was happy with the result. So was I. Everything is fine at this time.

The United States needs to follow the lead of the Canadian Prime Minister to learn how democracy should work.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government introduced legislation Monday that would put a freeze on importing, buying, or selling handguns.

"We are capping the number of handguns in this country," Trudeau said.

The regulations to halt the growth of personally owned handguns are expected to be enacted this fall.

"It will be illegal to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada," the prime minister said.

Radek i ja rozmawialiśmy o inflacji, wojnie w Ukrainie, ostatniej masakrze w szkole w Teksasie, a na drugiej godzinie był język hiszpański. Nagrywam cały nasz czas, kiedy rozmawiamy po hiszpańsku, a potem odsłuchuję go w ciągu tygodnia. Nie wiem dlaczego, ale czasami nagrywarka sama się wyłącza. Today was an extension of yesterday with the exception of Bartosz working with Joan for an hour. Yesterday I was able to get her to make 4 sets of 10 squats during the day. Tomorrow I will try for an additional set to increase to 50 per day. She is a little resistant but in the end, complies.

I read that because of the war, there is a shortage of wire cables for automobiles. The humble wire harness, a cheap component that bundles cables together, has become an unlikely scourge of the auto industry. Some predict it could hasten the downfall of combustion cars.

Dzisiejszy dzień był przedłużeniem wczorajszego, z tym że Bartosz pracował z Joan przez godzinę. Wczoraj udało mi się nakłonić ją do zrobienia 4 powtórzeń po 10 przysiadów w ciągu dnia. Jutro postaram się o jedeno dodatkowe , aby zwiększyć do 50 dziennie. Joan jest trochę oporna, ale w końcu się zgadza. 

Czytałem, że w związku z wojną brakuje przewodów do samochodów. Skromna wiązka przewodów, tani element łączący kable, stała się prawdziwą plagą przemysłu samochodowego. Niektórzy przewidują, że może ona przyspieszyć upadek samochodów spalinowych.

We spent most of the day resting and watching various programs. The best was a documentary about the life of Quincy Jones. He is a musician from the south side of Chicago. Actually, he is more than just a musician who plays an instrument. 

He is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. His career spans 70 years in the entertainment industry with a record of 80 Grammy Award nominations, 28 Grammys, and a Grammy Legend Award in 1992.

Jones came to prominence in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor before working on pop music and film scores. He moved easily between musical genres, producing Lesley Gore's major pop hits of the early 1960s (including "It's My Party") and serving as an arranger and conductor for several collaborations between the jazz artists Frank Sinatra and Count Basie in the same time period. In 1968, Jones became the first African American to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "The Eyes of Love" from the film Banning. Jones was also nominated for an  Academy Award for Best Original Score for his work on the 1967 film In Cold Blood, making him the first African American to be nominated twice in the same year. Jones produced three of pop star Michael Jackson's most successful albums: Off The Wall  (1979), Thriller (1982), and Bad (1987). In 1985, Jones produced and conducted the charity song "We Are the World" to raise funds for victims of famine in Ethiopia.

This is political.

 My wife and I are expats. We moved to Poland 15 years ago in search of my family roots. Since that time, my opinion of the U.S. has changed due to truths I was not aware of before. For example, how the U.S. betrayed Poland toward the end of WWII when it gave Poland to the Soviet Union.  However, we still are concerned about what happens there because we have children, grandchildren, friends and other relatives still living there. So, we are concerned about the future of the country. Therefore I ask you this question?

Which do you choose, Democracy, Autocracy, or Dictatorship? You have a choice to make before the mid-term elections. Make no mistake in thinking the Republicans will not be voting against Democracy. It is already evident in some of the early elections. The Trump camp will be intact for that election. It is impossible to change their minds. Common Sense author, Thomas Paine knew this when he wrote over 200 years ago, “To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead or endeavoring to convert an atheist by scripture.”  Today's Republicans are a perfect fit for that quote. That was written 247 years ago and, unfortunately, it is VERY pertinent today.

How can it be that 2 ½ centuries later, the very ideals that the country was founded on are more in peril than ever? That is why this upcoming election is so important to start working on it now. “The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all”-John F. Kennedy. In today's world, it is the ignorance of 72 million American voters who have been lied to for the last 6 years. And it’s something we’ve seen a lot with the doom-spreading prophecies that Donald Trump is going to run for president in 2024. His 2019 withholding of military aid to Ukraine to try to pressure Ukrainian president Zelenski into supporting his lies is also being re-examined under the harsh light of this war. The Republicans are clearly gearing up to try to steal the mid-term election or, at least, challenge or try to reverse every one they lose. A total of 469 seats in the U.S. Congress (34) Senate seats and all 435 House seats are up for election on November 8, 2022. It is crucial that the Republicans do not control either the Senate or the House of Representatives if President Biden has any hope of repairing the damage done to the U.S. and its allies

It is time to support the Democracy of America. No one can sit on the sidelines for the mid-term elections. “I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion”.-Alexander the Great. Don't be one of the sheep! Millions of Americans have died for this country, fighting to protect Democracy. Don't let this election continue the demise of America. Do whatever you can to help this election be a victory for it. Your children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.

You are on social media platforms as probably your friends are. Please share this with them and ask them to do the same. It is time to realize this election, as well as in 2024, will set the direction the U.S. will go, either up or down. It is up to you and  I to help it go up. Don't let it be the Rise and Fall of the United States of America.

Moja żona i ja jesteśmy emigrantami. Przeprowadziliśmy się do Polski 15 lat temu w poszukiwaniu moich rodzinnych korzeni. Od tego czasu moja opinia o Stanach Zjednoczonych zmieniła się dzięki prawdom, których wcześniej nie byłem świadomy. Na przykład o tym, jak USA zdradziły Polskę pod koniec II wojny światowej, kiedy oddały ją Związkowi Radzieckiemu.  Nadal jednak martwimy się o to, co się tam dzieje, ponieważ mamy dzieci, wnuki, przyjaciół i innych krewnych, którzy nadal tam mieszkają. Martwimy się więc o przyszłość tego kraju. Dlatego zadaję Wam to pytanie.

Co wybieracie: demokrację, autokrację czy dyktaturę? Przed prawyborami  musicie dokonać wyboru. Nie popełnijcie błędu, myśląc, że Republikanie nie będą głosować przeciwko demokracji. Widać to już w niektórych przedterminowych wyborach. Obóz Trumpa będzie nienaruszony do tych wyborów. Nie da się zmienić ich poglądów. Autor Common Sense, Thomas Paine, wiedział o tym, gdy ponad 200 lat temu pisał: "Spierać się z człowiekiem, który wyrzekł się używania i autorytetu rozumu i którego filozofia polega na pogardzaniu ludzkością, to jak podawać lekarstwa zmarłemu lub próbować nawrócić ateistę za pomocą pisma świętego".  Dzisiejsi republikanie doskonale pasują do tego cytatu.
