I Skyped with cousin Chiara today for 1 1/2 hours. She was back at her parents house in Słupca for the weekend, playing tennis with her 2 sisters and enjoying time at home. All 3 of them have grown into beautiful young women since I first met them in 2003. All 3 speak fluent Polish, English and German and the youngest, Vivien, is also fluent in the Swedish language. We talked about travels, life in general and the disaster that has been created by man to the planet to the climate. She couldn't believe how it has not been taken seriously by the older generations and it is her and younger generations who will suffer because of it. I could not disagree with her. It is also beyond my comprehension. Only today I read that yet another scientist said there will be no ice left in the Artic by the year 2022. In the last 35 years, 75-80%  has melted already and it is irreversible. I have to wonder when I read reports how cities or countries will reduce carbon emissions by the year 2030 or 2050. By then it will be too late and it is not only carbon emissions that is the problem. Anonymous, you will read this and say it is all a fraud but you must "take your head out of the sand" my friend.

In Poland, it either has to adapt it's Clean Air Program to the changes proposed by the European Commission or it will have to resign from the EU support for the program in the size of 6-8 billion EUROS.

It was a cloudy day with the possibility of rain buut still nice outside so I wanted to take Joan out anyway, at least to Empik for a coffee to break the monotony of staying indoors. Just as we got there a cloud opened up and a heavy down pour of rain started. I waited and waited but it didn't stop. So, the alternative was Sowa's although I didn't really want to sit inside but we had no choice.

Skypedam dzisiaj z kuzynką Chiarą przez 1 1/2 godziny. W weekend wróciła do domu rodziców w Słupcy, grając w tenisa z 2 siostrami i bawiąc się w domu. Wszystkie trzy z nich stały się pięknymi młodymi kobietami, odkąd po raz pierwszy spotkałem je w 2003 roku. Wszystkie 3 mówią biegle po polsku, angielsku i niemiecku, a najmłodsi, Vivien, również biegle władają językiem szwedzkim. Rozmawialiśmy o podróżach, życiu w ogóle i katastrofie, która została stworzona przez człowieka na planetę dla klimatu. Nie mogła uwierzyć, że starsze pokolenia nie potraktowały tego poważnie i to z tego powodu ucierpią jej i młodsze pokolenia. Nie mogłem się z nią nie zgodzić. Jest to również poza moim zrozumieniem. Dopiero dzisiaj przeczytałem, że jeszcze jeden naukowiec powiedział, że w Artic nie pozostanie lód do roku 2022. W ciągu ostatnich 35 lat 75-80% już się stopiło i jest nieodwracalne. Muszę się zastanawiać, kiedy czytam raporty o tym, jak miasta lub kraje ograniczą emisję dwutlenku węgla do roku 2030 lub 2050. Do tego czasu będzie już za późno, a problem nie dotyczy tylko emisji dwutlenku węgla. Anonimowo, przeczytasz to i powiesz, że to oszustwo, ale musisz „wyrwać głowę z piasku”, mój przyjacielu.

W Polsce musi dostosować program „Czyste powietrze” do zmian zaproponowanych przez Komisję Europejską lub będzie musiał zrezygnować z unijnego wsparcia dla programu o wielkości 6-8 mld euro.

Był pochmurny dzień z możliwością burzowego deszczu na zewnątrz, więc i tak chciałem zabrać Joan, przynajmniej do Empiku na kawę, żeby przełamać monotonię przebywania w domu. Kiedy tam dotarliśmy, chmura się otworzyła i zaczął padać ciężki deszcz. Czekałam i czekałam, ale to się nie skończyło. Więc alternatywą była Sowa, chociaż tak naprawdę nie chciałem siedzieć w środku, ale nie mieliśmy wyboru.
