Decorations

Decorating this flat for Christmas will not be easy. There is simply not enough space to put everything up. Even the Christmas tree will be in question until I have it in the house. What a predicament!

¡Menudo aprieto!

    Hi David and Joan,

It was my comment earlier re: Xmas tree hanging from ceiling idea (forgot to sign it) Looking further, I found the custom (which has recently been trending...read on):

    Interesting tradition, huh?!
And, you'll miss a tree (besides, Cheistmas comes once a year-- and we need all the hope & cheer we can create, after this hellish year):

But, if an upside down tree seems too weird for you, you can STILL hang it UPRIGHT (I don't think the xmas police will raid your apt)!
And, as mentioned already, a SMAll one e can still be pretty. But if you'd be concerned about a real tree drying out too fast w/o watering, am sure you'd find plenty of small artificial trees in stores there.
And if it works out, you can clear out another box w. your big tree (or if you have a lobby, ask your landlord and set the big one up there-- maybe start a new tradition w.the other tenants pitching in to decorate--kids would be a plus; and, didn't you used to dress up as Santa Claus???)!
Soooo..."no room at the inn" is unacceptable...you MUST have a tree...no worries...there ARE others solutions if this doesn't grab your fancy; even a tinier countertop tree to put on a table would work (they sell live ones that small I'm sure you've seen before, across the Pond here).
Let's see a photo of what you come up with, David!!
