It's about time!

Finally, one major company is doing something to try to slow down the progress of Covid-19 in Poland.

Many IKEA stores in Poland have seen long lines of customers waiting to enter the store in recent days.

But the queue did not have to include vaccinated people who showed the staff their covid certificate or a negative test result for Covid-19. This outraged the people standing in the long queues.

IKEA itself explains that it adheres to the ordinance of the Council of Ministers, which stipulates that currently there can be 1 customer per 15 square meters of space in a store. If the limit is reached, a queue forms in front of the store waiting to enter. Since the regulation states that people who have been vaccinated and have a negative Covid-19 test result do not count against the limit, if customers who want to enter the store have a Covid certificate or test result with them, they can show it to staff and enter the facility out of line.---epoznan.pl.

At a time when the number of cases continues to rise and the government is not doing enough to curtail it,  I applaud the action taken by Ikea. Every shopping mall and business should follow their example. Those people having to stand in those lines are calling it "sanitary segregation" and maybe it is, however, if it helps slow down the spread of the virus then it is worth it. There are far too many people not wearing masks, social distancing, or being vaccinated.

Oburzyło to ludzi stojących w długich kolejkach.
