One less worry.

Using Live Chat, I was able to arrange Special Assistance to help me get Joan on and off the airplane to Alicante on Tuesday. The lady, Anita, was very helpful. She rearranged our seating on the plane going and coming back. There will be someone in Poznań with a wheelchair to get us through the airport, security and then on the plane. In Alicante it will be the same. That takes a big load off of my mind. The service is free of charge and they even refunded Joan the cost of her reserved seating.

It's been sunny and the same temperature as in Santiago the last few days. Almost makes me wonder why leave? However, I know psychologically it will be better for Joan. Walking will be easier in level sidewalks wherever we go,whether it is the short distance to the center of town or to the beach. There will be more English speakers for her to talk with and maybe, maybe she will try a little Spanish although I think the language block is in her mind already. She was doing very good with Spanish a few months ago but that has changed with this new development.

Here in Poland, many cities broadcasted the funeral of the President of Gdańsk and plazas were full of people denouncing hate and violence.

I was thinking about my friend, John, who now waits for the President to sign his Polish citizenship paper. I am happy that everything went smoothly for him. He did not have the obstacles in his path that I have. After years of studying the language and being married to a Polish citizen who passed away a few years ago, he speaks the language well. All his documents were in order so it went quickly through the system.

Korzystając z czatu na żywo, udało mi się zorganizować Pomoc Specjalną,  aby pomóc we wtorek i wtargnąć z samolotu do Alicante. Pani, Anita, była bardzo pomocna. Przestawiła nasze siedzenia na pokładzie samolotu i wracała. Będzie ktoś w Poznaniu z wózkiem inwalidzkim, który zabierze nas przez lotnisko, ochronę, a potem samolot. W Alicante będzie tak samo. To wymaga dużego obciążenia mojego umysłu. Usługa jest bezpłatna, a oni nawet zwracają Joan koszt zarezerwowanych miejsc.

Jest słonecznie i w tej samej temperaturze co w Santiago w ciągu ostatnich kilku dni. Prawie sprawia, że ​​zastanawiam się, dlaczego odejść? Jednak wiem, psychologicznie, że będzie lepiej dla Joan. Zwiedzanie będzie łatwiejsze na poziomych chodnikach, niezależnie od tego, dokąd jedziemy, czy to w niewielkiej odległości do centrum miasta czy na plażę. Będzie więcej osób, z którymi mogłaby rozmawiać po angielsku i może, może spróbuje trochę hiszpańskiego, chociaż myślę, że blok językowy już jest w jej głowie. Kilka miesięcy temu radziła sobie bardzo dobrze z hiszpańskim, ale to się zmieniło wraz z rozwojem.

Tu, w Polsce, wiele miast nadawało pogrzeb Prezydenta Gdańska, a na placach pełno było ludzi potępiających nienawiść i przemoc.

Myślałem o moim przyjacielu, Johnie, który czeka teraz na Prezydenta, aby podpisał jego polską gazetę obywatelską. Cieszę się, że wszystko poszło gładko dla niego. Nie miał przeszkód na swojej drodze, które mam. Po latach nauki języka i małżeństwie z obywatelem polskim, który zmarł kilka lat temu, dobrze mówi językiem. Wszystkie jego dokumenty były w porządku, więc szybko przeszły przez systemu.
