Last night's dinner of albondigas was disappointing. After Joan spent an hour and a half preparing them according to the recipe, they turned out not so good and she wouldn't make them again. They looked like the ones we had in Spain but the taste was not the same and not that good. Oh well, that's the way it is sometimes when you take a recipe from the internet, it sounds and looks good but then, in the end, it isn't.

The women's soccer team has been treated unfairly by the FIFA organization. The World Championship game is scheduled for tomorrow. The U.S. women's soccer team will have competition on Sunday when it goes for it's fourth World Cup. Two other men's tournaments--the Copa America and Concacaf Gold Cup-will also be playing their final games on Sunday. Team USA's Megan Rapinoe called it a "ridiculous and disappointing" distraction. President Victor Montagliani told the New York Times the decision to schedule the Gold Cup for Sunday was due to a "clerical error." FIFA says having all three finals on the same day will draw more attention to the sport. I think it was done to draw attention away from the women's game. Even in sports, there is no equality for women. Look at the pay! The women will each earn $90,000. If it were the men's game, they would earn $550,000. NO EQUALITY. Women may have been given the right to vote in 1920 but almost 100 years later there is little total equality. Men still dominate the world and look at the shape it is in now. Out of 195 counties in the World, only 26 have female leaders. The USA Men's team has never even gotten close to playing for the championship and nowhere is the Women's team, for the second year, trying to win it again and yet FIFA will not give them center stage, Maybe if the President of FIFA was a woman it would be different.
