Interesting.

I made the decision to go to Le Grande Hair Salon on Tuesday at 13:00 to get my hair and beard cut. I will take a picture with me of how it looked after the cut by Enrique in Spain. This will give the hair stylist, Marco, the exact picture of what I expect. IF he succeeds in duplicating the cut I will be happy but the cost is still too high. The next time I will go to the lady who charges 30 PLN and see if she can do the same thing. If she can, she will have my business until I return to Spain.

Now they are building an new sidewalk on the east side our neighborhood that will connect Strzeszyn Grecji with Strzeszyn. It is a big project and I suppose it will take a year or more to complete. I will take some pictures this weekend.

I was contacted by Peter Alter of  the Chicago History Museum who found my blog and an article about  me stating that I once lived in suburban Itasca.  He is working on on a Poles in Chicago Project. In this new initiative, he has four Polish American high school students who are bilingual and receiving oral history training.

Now, they are conducting oral history interviews to document Polish immigrants and Polish Americans in the Chicago area, and they will do the same in Warsaw at the end of next month. They are working with the Polish History Museum (Warsaw) when they visit there.  

He wondering if there is a community of people like Joan and I in Poznań who have moved here to retire and have Polish American ancestral roots. He would very much be interested in talking with us and anyone who has a similar experience and lives in Poland now. I wrote we would be happy to talk with them but only in Poznań. We would not travel to Warsaw,

Teraz budują nowy chodnik po wschodniej stronie naszej dzielnicy, która połączy Strzeszynkę z Strzeszynem. To duży projekt i prawdopodobnie minie rok lub więcej. W ten weekend zrobię kilka zdjęć.

Skontaktował mnie Peter Alter z Chicago History Museum, który znalazł mój blog i artykuł o mnie, stwierdzający, że kiedyś mieszkałem na przedmieściach Itasca. Pracuje nad projektem Polacy w Chicago. W tej nowej inicjatywie ma czterech polskich licealistów, którzy są dwujęzyczni i przechodzą szkolenie z historii mówionej.Teraz przeprowadzają wywiady w formie wywiadu ustnego, aby udokumentować polskich imigrantów i polskich Amerykanów w okolicach Chicago, a zrobią to samo w Warszawie pod koniec przyszłego miesiąca. Współpracują z Muzeum Historii Polski (Warszawa), gdy tam odwiedzają.

Zastanawia się, czy istnieje społeczność ludzi takich jak Joanna i ja w Poznaniu, którzy przenieśli się tutaj na emeryturę i mają polskie rodowe korzenie. Byłby bardzo zainteresowany rozmową z nami i każdym, kto ma podobne doświadczenia i mieszka teraz w Polsce. Napisałem, że z przyjemnością porozmawiamy z nimi, ale tylko w Poznaniu. Nie podróżowalibyśmy do Warszawy,
