Bench..

Now I have heard it all......I was shocked when I found out about buying tickets for the Alhambra 3 months in advance but now that is nothing.

We talked with Karen and Joe this morning who arrived in Barcelona at 6:25 with 6 hours on their hands before they could check into their hotel. They found a place and had breakfast, visited the Gaudi house and then went to visit Park Guell, also designed by Gaudi. Entrance is free and the most famous thing in the park is the great mosaic bench he built.  Joan and I sat on it 8 years ago and took pictures. All you had to do was wait for someone to get up and leave a free space to sit down, NOT anymore. Now you have to BUY a ticket just to sit on the bench. How preposterous!!!A ticket just to sit on the bench!! Talk about commercialization taking over!

The focal point of the park is the main terrace, surrounded by a long bench in the form of a sea serpent. The curves of the serpent bench form a number of enclaves, creating a more social atmosphere. Gaudí incorporated many motifs of Catalan  nationalism, and elements from religious mysticism and ancient poetry, into the Park. Much of the design of the benches was the work not of Gaudí but of his often overlooked collaborator Josep Jujol.

Teraz wszystko to słyszałem ...... Byłem zszokowany, gdy dowiedziałem się o zakupie biletów na Alhambrę 3 miesiące wcześniej, ale teraz to nic.

Rozmawialiśmy dziś rano z Karen i Joe, którzy przybyli do Barcelony o 6:25 z 6 godzinami na rękach, zanim mogli sprawdzić w hotelu. Znaleźli miejsce i zjedli śniadanie, odwiedzili dom Gaudiego, a następnie poszli odwiedzić Park Guell, również zaprojektowany przez Gaudiego. Wejście jest bezpłatne, a najbardziej znaną rzeczą w parku jest wspaniała mozaikowa ławka, którą zbudował. Joan i ja siedzieliśmy na nim 8 lat temu i robiliśmy zdjęcia. Wszystko, co musieliście zrobić, to poczekać, aż ktoś wstanie i zostawić wolną przestrzeń, by usiąść, już NIE. Teraz musisz KUPIĆ bilet, aby usiąść na ławce. Jak niedorzeczne !!! Bilet tylko po to, żeby usiąść na ławce !! Porozmawiaj o przejęciu komercjalizacji!

Centralnym punktem parku jest główny taras, otoczony długą ławką w postaci węża morskiego. Krzywe ławki węża tworzą wiele enklaw, tworząc bardziej społeczną atmosferę. Gaudí włączył do parku wiele motywów katalońskiego nacjonalizmu i elementów z religijnego mistycyzmu i starożytnej poezji. Duża część ławek była dziełem nie Gaudiego, ale jego często pomijanego współpracownika Josepa Jujola
