Here we are.

At 17:30 the taxi arrived, put our bags and wheelchair into his vehicle, and drove to the airport. At the airport information desk, we were met by 2 young men who took our bags, Joan and myself to the front of the check-in counter where our documents and tickets were checked. From there they took us to the security area, front of the line, and our bags were inspected as well as our persons. Passing through that, they took us to the waiting area in gate #5 where we sat for another 1 1/2 hours waiting for the plane.

Once the plane did arrive, the regular passengers boarded and when that was done, Joan and her wheelchair were put into a special lift truck that took her to the plane, raised up, and allowed her to enter and be seated.

The flight took 3 hours to Alicante. At that airport, we were met by a Spanish attendant who retrieved our bags, took us to the car rental, and then to the car. It was very efficient and enjoyable.

The drive to Ribera was longer than before because several roads were still flooded from previous heavy rains so we had to take alternative roads at times. We finally arrived at about 1:30 in the morning, put our clothes away and went to bed.

This morning we woke up at 10:30. got dressed and went to the beach area for coffee and tostadas for breakfast. Now Joan is working on the shopping list of food and the menu for next week. Always forgetting something, this time we forgot the book that had weekly menus and ingredients in it. It would have made it easier for Joan. Now she has to take the time to create new ones.

17:30 przyjechała taksówka, kierowca włożył nasze bagaże i wózek inwalidzki do pojazdu i pojechaliśmy na lotnisko. W punkcie informacyjnym lotniska spotkaliśmy się z dwoma młodymi mężczyznami, którzy zabrali nasze bagaże, Joan i mnie przed stanowisko odprawy, gdzie zostały sprawdzone nasze dokumenty i bilety. Stamtąd zabrano nas do strefy kontroli bezpieczeństwa, na przód kolejki, gdzie sprawdzono nas i nasze bagaże. Po przejściu tego, zabrali nas do poczekalni przy bramie nr 5, gdzie siedzieliśmy jeszcze półtorej godziny czekając na samolot.

Po przybyciu samolotu, najpierw na pokład weszli normalni pasażerowie, a kiedy to się zakończyło, Joanna i jej wózek inwalidzki zostały wsadzone do specjalnego wózka widłowego, który zabrał ją do samolotu, podniósł i pozwolił jej wejść i usiąść.

Lot do Alicante trwał 3 godziny. Na lotnisku spotkał nas hiszpański asystent, który odebrał nasze bagaże, zabrał nas do wypożyczalni samochodów, a następnie do samochodu. Było to bardzo sprawne i przyjemne.

Jazda do Ribery była dłuższa niż poprzednio, ponieważ kilka dróg było jeszcze zalanych przez poprzednie ulewne deszcze, więc musieliśmy czasami wybierać alternatywne drogi. W końcu dotarliśmy około 1:30 rano, odłożyliśmy nasze rzeczy i poszliśmy spać.

Dziś rano obudziliśmy się o 10:30. ubraliśmy się i poszliśmy na plażę na kawę i dostadas na śniadanie. Teraz Joanna pracuje nad listą zakupów żywności i menu na następny tydzień. Zawsze o czymś zapominamy, tym razem zapomnieliśmy o książce, która zawierała cotygodniowe menu i składniki. Ułatwiłaby życie Joan. Teraz musi poświęcić czas na tworzenie nowego menu.
