So, it's Saturday and we just finished watching the news on PBS. Is there such a thing as a channel that has only GOOD news? I haven't found it.
Ukraine continues to get pounded by Russia; no country will do more than send battle equipment. How many cities and Ukrainians have to be destroyed before the world governments come together to really stop the carnage of this war? Is Ukraine only being used to test foreign countries' new military equipment not tested in battle conditions? I think that is a valid question. Of course, I applaud all countries who send the equipment but it is not enough. Ukraine is fighting for more than democracy in Ukraine, it affects any country where democracy is.
Now and before, democracy is in peril even in the United States. I have no doubt it started with the previous administration and continues even today. The court system is lost to the far-right Republican party. Republican? That name should be changed to the Authoritarian Party. It is an autocratic system. Autocracy is a system of government in which absolute power over a state is concentrated in the hands of one person, whose decisions are subject neither to external legal restraints nor to regularized mechanisms of popular control (except perhaps for the implicit threat of a coup d'état or other forms of rebellion. The coup d'état failed on January 6th but the people supporting it are still very active. Why the instigator of the event has not been charged with any crimes against the government is beyond my understanding. Nevertheless, it concerns me about the future of the United States.
In the U.S. President Biden made a lot of promises before he was elected. However, the Senate is evenly divided and the sheep in wolf's clothing, Joe Manchin(Democrat) voting against critical programs, not all of the programs have passed the Senate for approval. The Autocrats are determined to stop as many of them as possible, even if they would be good for the country. For the Autocrats, it is not what is good for the country, it is what would give them the power to push their own agenda for power. They have even gone so far as to invite Viktor Orban, the autocratic leader of Hungary to speak to the voters of their party. But he and the previous U.S. President share the same ideas.
Tak więc jest sobota i właśnie skończyliśmy oglądać wiadomości na PBS. Czy istnieje coś takiego jak kanał, który ma tylko DOBRE wiadomości? Ja nie znalazłem.
Ukraina nadal dostaje lanie od Rosji; żaden kraj nie zrobi więcej niż wysłanie sprzętu bojowego. Ile miast i Ukraińców musi zostać zniszczonych, zanim rządy światowe zjednoczą się, aby naprawdę zatrzymać rzeź w tej wojnie? Czy Ukraina jest wykorzystywana tylko do testowania nowego sprzętu wojskowego obcych państw, nie sprawdzonego w warunkach bojowych? Myślę, że jest to ważne pytanie. Oczywiście pochwalam wszystkie kraje, które wysyłają sprzęt, ale to nie wystarczy. Ukraina walczy o coś więcej niż demokrację w Ukrainie, to dotyczy każdego kraju, w którym jest demokracja.
Teraz i wcześniej demokracja jest w niebezpieczeństwie nawet w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Nie mam wątpliwości, że zaczęło się to za poprzedniej administracji i trwa nawet dzisiaj. System sądowniczy przegrał ze skrajnie prawicową partią republikańską. Republikańską? Ta nazwa powinna zostać zmieniona na Partia Autorytarna. To jest system autokratyczny. Autokracja to system rządów, w którym absolutna władza nad państwem skupiona jest w rękach jednej osoby, której decyzje nie podlegają ani zewnętrznym ograniczeniom prawnym, ani uregulowanym mechanizmom kontroli społecznej (może z wyjątkiem ukrytej groźby zamachu stanu lub innych form buntu). Zamach stanu nie udał się 6 stycznia, ale ludzie go wspierający są nadal bardzo aktywni. Dlaczego inicjator tego wydarzenia nie został oskarżony o jakiekolwiek przestępstwa przeciwko rządowi, jest dla mnie niezrozumiałe. Niemniej jednak martwi mnie przyszłość Stanów Zjednoczonych.
W USA prezydent Biden złożył wiele obietnic zanim został wybrany. Dla Autokratów, to nie jest to, co jest dobre dla kraju, to jest to, co dałoby im władzę, aby przepchnąć ich własny program. Posunęli się nawet do zaproszenia Viktora Orbana, autokratycznego przywódcy Węgier, aby przemówił do wyborców ich partii. Ale on i poprzedni prezydent USA mają te same pomysły.

Ucrania sigue siendo machacada por Rusia; ningún país hará más que enviar equipos de combate. ¿Cuántas ciudades y ucranianos tienen que ser destruidos antes de que los gobiernos del mundo se unan para detener realmente la carnicería de esta guerra? ¿Se está utilizando a Ucrania sólo para probar los nuevos equipos militares de los países extranjeros que no se han probado en condiciones de batalla? Creo que es una pregunta válida. Por supuesto, aplaudo a todos los países que envían el equipo, pero no es suficiente. Ucrania está luchando por algo más que la democracia en Ucrania, afecta a cualquier país donde haya democracia.
Ahora y antes, la democracia está en peligro incluso en Estados Unidos. No tengo ninguna duda de que empezó con la administración anterior y continúa incluso hoy. No entiendo por qué el instigador del mismo no ha sido acusado de ningún delito contra el gobierno. Sin embargo, me preocupa el futuro de Estados Unidos.
