A better day.

With the help of a nice government employee in Cleveland and a faithful reader of this Blog, Anna, yesterday's problems have become a lot smaller.

An employee in the Vital Records division in Cleveland said I could send Joan's birth certificate back to them and they would replace it with the long form showing her city of birth. I will still have to send it again for a new apostille but it will save time thanks to that woman.

Anna, from Florida, is able to apply for a copy of Joan's first marriage license with the information we gave her. When she gets it, she can then apply for the apostille, receive it and send it to us. Anna has helped us on more than one occasion. We have been fortunate to meet her when she's come to Poland, to Lublin, to visit her family. This is one reason I keep blogging, the people I have met through it. So many nice ones and some have become friends without even meeting them in person. In this world today filled with some horrible people, there is still hope.
