Sołacki.

At 5:30 this morning it was gray and cloudy and stayed like that until noon. Then the sun managed to break through and it turned into a good day to go for our first walk in Sołacki Park. In the play area for children they have an interesting climbing area that resembles a spider's web. Actually, they have 2, one small and one large, It reminds me of the old monkey bars we used to play on when I was a kid. We sat for a while and watched various children climb up and down the web, then started our walk around the park.

2 carved wooden figures now sit in the park. They have normal bodies but rather strange heads. Maybe they were the first inhabitants on the planet.

The small lakes of water were very calm with hardly any wind blowing when we were there. Very few people were in the park, normal because it's Monday and many are at work although the big 3 day weekend is just around the corner, May 3rd, Constitution Day.  Historian Norman Davies calls it "the first constitution of its type in Europe"; other scholars also refer to it as the world's second oldest constitution.

The trees are covered with leaves now and the greenery is evident everywhere. Dandelions and clover cover some of the grassy areas and some of the flowers have bloomed. A weekday is the perfect time for a walk around the park, less people. We only made one pass and then Joan was tired from walking so we returned to the car.

O 5:30 dziś rano było szaro i pochmurno i tak było do południa. Potem słońce zdołało przebić się i zamieniło się w dobry dzień na nasz pierwszy spacer po Parku Sołackim. W obszarze zabaw dla dzieci mają ciekawy obszar wspinaczkowy przypominający sieć pająka. Właściwie mają 2, jeden mały i jeden duży. Przypomina mi to stare małpie, na których graliśmy, kiedy byłem dzieckiem. Siedzieliśmy przez chwilę i obserwowaliśmy, jak różne dzieci wspinają się po sieci, a potem zaczęliśmy spacer po parku.

2 rzeźbione drewniane figurki siedzą teraz w parku. Mają normalne ciała, ale raczej dziwne głowy. Może byli pierwszymi mieszkańcami planety.

Małe jeziora wody były bardzo spokojne, a kiedy tam byliśmy, prawie nie było wiatru. Bardzo niewielu ludzi było w parku, normalnie, ponieważ jest poniedziałek, a wielu jest w pracy, chociaż duży 3-dniowy weekend jest tuż za rogiem, 3 maja, Dzień Konstytucji. Historyk Norman Davies nazywa to „pierwszą konstytucją tego typu w Europie”; inni uczeni nazywają go także drugą najstarszą konstytucją na świecie.

Drzewa są teraz pokryte liśćmi, a zieleń jest widoczna wszędzie. Mniszek lekarski i koniczyna pokrywają niektóre trawiaste obszary, a niektóre kwiaty zakwitły. Dzień tygodnia to idealny czas na spacer po parku, mniej ludzi. Zrobiliśmy tylko jedną przepustkę, a potem Joan była zmęczona chodzeniem, więc wróciliśmy do samochodu.
