Shopping & Ukraine

Today had to be shopping day because yesterday, when my alarm went off at 6:30 AM, I thought I would just close my eyes for five minutes. Three hours later, I woke up, and because Paige wasn't coming until today, I couldn't shop and leave Joan alone at home.

So, today I went and spent 251 PLN($69). It was a lot, but I had to buy dish soap and laundry detergent, and that was 30PLN, so the food cost was 221 PLN.

It was a hot day, 87°F, and even though Joan wanted to go out, I persuaded her to stay home where it was cooler. With the drapes closed on the south-facing windows and the north-facing windows open, it is always better inside.

Tonight, I'm listening to the great Argentine singer, Mercedes Sosa. I can understand some of what she sings in Argentine Spanish.

Meanwhile, Ukraine.

US Vice President JD Vance in an interview with Fox News on Sunday, argued Europe needs “to step up” because Americans are “tired” of paying for arms and support to Ukraine.

In fact, Vance was complaining about something that isn’t happening. The US vice president misled viewers with a false narrative that Europe hasn’t taken on the burden of supporting Ukraine.

In reality, that’s exactly what happened – about six months ago.
