Moved

We have now moved to our new apartment on Miedzychodszka street in Poznan and are on our own for the first time. God help us! Now we must find food, bedding and furniture without a car.

Hi David and Joan,
I have been following your blog and I hope your new life in Poland is everything you hope it to be and more! I went to Poland (Krakow) last year for the first time and it won't be the last. My parents came to England during the war and could never return to Poland. I felt I had found my home at last.
All the best

Hi David,
My Mum and her family were 'relocated' by the Russians in 1940, from a village near Lwow to northern Russia. On the morning she last saw her home it was -40. This year the temperature in Oldham, UK, has been around -1 on just a few days, almost tropical in comparison! I often think of what it must have been like to experience such cold.

On the subject of cars. Skoda used to have a bad reputation. We bought one a few years ago and it has been a very good buy. There have been a few problems but having a good repair shop has solved them all. Check with your local Fiat garage before you buy.

I enjoy your blog.

Happy new Year

all the very best
Val

Val,
Thanks for writing. -40, not that's cold. We experienced that in Upper Michigan and THAT was cold.

How did you find our blog?

Hi David,

I am so pleased that you have your Panda at last. I hope it gives you many years of pleasure.
I found your blog while reading an edition of Gen Dobry in August 2007 and have been visiting about once a week since then.
