Niespodzianka!

Yes, a big surprise today.  We recieved documents from Social Security asking various questions about whether or not our status had changed about living in Poland.  It  said we had to mail them back within 60 days or our SS would be stopped.  Naturally, we filled them out right away and wanted to send them back and recieve verification that they had recieved them.  Unfortunately, with the mail system here that is not possible.  You can send what is called a registered mail but it only gives you proof that you mailed it, not that it was recieved so that was not good enough.  We thought we would use UPS and get a verified receipt but that is not possible here either.  However, I could use the tracking number to see when it was recieved so we decided to do that.

The new clerk at Mailboxes, Inc. finally figured out how to fill in his forms, get the UPS mailing envelope and while he was doing that he printed out a receipt for us.  Here is where the surprise was.  The cost for mailing one, two page document to the U.S. was 317.28 zl.  I'll make it easy for you, that's a little over $100.

Of course, I freaked out when I saw the price and cancelled the order.  How ridiculous...317.28zl to mail one document via UPS to the U.S.  We have recieved documents from the U.S. and the cost was 90zl($30) but to send something there it is over three times as much.  I have no idea who sets the price but somebody is making a lot  of money I think.  We'll take our chances and send it through the mail system here, registered.  I still can't get over this.  What a rip-off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tu niespodzianka. Koszt dyskusyjnych jedną, dwie strony dokumentu do USA było 317,28 zł. Zrobię to dla Ciebie łatwe, to nieco ponad 100 dolarów.

Oczywiście, przerażony, gdy zobaczyłem cenę i anulowania zamówienia. Weźmiemy nasze szanse i wysłać go za pośrednictwem systemu email, zarejestrowany. Wciąż nie mogę sobie z tym. Co rip-off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you send registered mail from Poalnd thru post office whoever is going to get it has to sign for it, so the signature will be there. You amybe able to see if it was delivered and when if you go to USPS.gov with your tracking number or on Polish post office website.
