8 days in Spain, 8 days of blue sky and full sunshine. That is why we are here. Yes, it could be warmer but the sun makes up for the difference in attitude.
Our friend, Carmen, works in Alicante 2 days a week according to her own preference of days. She has agreed to work on the day we fly back to Poland next month and take us with her. She works at the airport. This will eliminate to need for me to go to Alicante to rent a car the day before we leave in order to have transport on the 23rd of March. One less problem to deal with thanks to her. We are grateful to have friends here.
Tonight, our friends Cari and her husband, Juanjo will pick us up and take us to the language club meeting. Another friend will bring us home after the usual Chinese dinner event.
The exchange rate continues to fall. Now the U.S. $ is only worth 4.27 PLN. That is not good for us.
The language club meeting did not end well. Joan is no longer able to be with a group of people speaking a language other than English. Within a half-hour I could see was getting mad about something and when I asked her she told me she was totally unaware of what was being said and wanted to leave. I had no choice but to make an excuse and ask Cari to take us home. I think that is the end of our participation. It has happened before in a different situation and I think it has a lot to do with her dementia progressing.
8 dni w Hiszpanii, 8 dni błękitnego nieba i pełnego słońca. To właśnie dlatego tu jesteśmy. Owszem, mogłoby być cieplej, ale słońce rekompensuje różnicę w nastawieniu.
Nasza przyjaciółka, Carmen, pracuje w Alicante 2 dni w tygodniu według własnej preferencji, w jakie dni. Zgodziła się pracować w dniu, w którym wracamy do Polski za miesiąc i zabrać nas ze sobą. Pracuje na lotnisku. Dzięki temu nie będę musiał jechać do Alicante, aby wypożyczyć samochód dzień przed wyjazdem, aby mieć transport 23 marca. Jeden problem mniej do załatwienia dzięki niej. Jesteśmy wdzięczni, że mamy tu przyjaciół.
Dziś wieczorem nasi przyjaciele Cari i jej mąż Juanjo odbiorą nas i zabiorą na spotkanie w klubie językowego. Inny przyjaciel przywiezie nas do domu po zwyczajowej imprezie z chińską kolacją.
⁰Kurs walutowy nadal spada. Teraz amerykański $ jest wart tylko 4,27 zł. To nie jest dla nas dobre.
Spotkanie klubu językowego nie zakończyło się dobrze. Joan nie jest już w stanie przebywać z grupą ludzi mówiących w innym języku niż angielski. W ciągu pół godziny widziałam, że się o coś wścieka, a kiedy ją zapytałem, powiedziała mi, że zupełnie nie wie, o czym mowa i chce wyjść. Nie miałem innego wyjścia, jak tylko złożyć przeprosić i poprosić Cari o odwiezienie nas do domu. Myślę, że to koniec naszego uczestnictwa. Zdarzyło się to już wcześniej w innej sytuacji i myślę, że ma to wiele wspólnego z postępującą demencją.
