Stary Rynek

 The end of the year will find Poznań's Old Market dug up, and there is still a lot of work to be done before paving and setting up tables on its slab, as underground infrastructure is being built, including rainwater tanks with diameters of up to 3.7 meters.

The Old Market has already been a huge construction site for a year - and will be so for most of next year, until autumn. The entire underground infrastructure has to be replaced, retention basins have to be built under the slab, sidewalks and the slab of the market have to be rebuilt, greenery has to be planted, and the Arsenal Gallery has to be rebuilt. These works will make the heart of Poznań more functional and impressive for residents and visitors, but until then the entrepreneurs, who have either closed their premises or are praying for customers and the completion of the works, must persevere.

For now, work is focused on building or renovating connections to buildings - water, sewer, gas, and electricity. Also in December, the last elements of the retention tank, built adjacent to City Hall, were delivered and installed in the trenches. This is one of two sets of reservoirs - the other is by the Weigh House. The one by City Hall and the builders' cottages is larger, able to hold 624 cubic meters of water, and at its largest point, its rings are 3.7 meters in diameter.

To accommodate them, an excavation 6 meters deep was made! The reservoirs are to take in rainwater so that it doesn't flood the tenements during heavy rainstorms, and some of them are added to feed this water to the plants of the four greenery islands planned for the Market.

Recall: so far archaeologists have unearthed wooden water pipes, the foundations of the so-called New Town Hall, an underground transformer station from the interwar period, and the remains of a manhole in the area of the Apollo fountain, in addition to numerous artifacts from the 15th and 16th centuries, many coins - and recently - a mortar grenade.

.The redevelopment of the market has severely hampered the lives of local entrepreneurs, primarily those in the catering industry. Those establishments that are functioning - naturally, without the gardens characteristic of the pre-renovation time - have pedestrian access, and banners with a map and the names of active eateries have been placed at the entrances to the Old Market.

Old Town councilors, however, appeal that, for the sake of entrepreneurs, they should not wait passively for the end of the reconstruction: the city should already be building an information campaign to encourage people to visit the center of Poznań once the construction workers have left, and to show that it was worth surviving the construction difficulties. Andrzej Rataj, chairman of the Old Town Neighborhood Council and city councilman, stresses that we are all waiting for the renovations to be completed, but that life and the unique atmosphere will not suddenly return once the streets are open and that a good promotional strategy is needed for this.

- It is worth supporting Old Town entrepreneurs. They should be helped to survive the time of renovations in Poznan's Old Town! The city authorities should be more cognizant of the problems of those running stores, restaurants, or service outlets," said Andrzej Rataj.-Source-poznan.naszemiasto.pl

Koniec roku zastanie poznański Stary Rynek rozkopanym, a do ułożenia kostki brukowej i postawienia stolików na jego płycie jeszcze sporo trzeba zrobić – trwa bowiem budowa infrastruktury podziemnej, w tym zbiorników na deszczówkę, o średnicy sięgającej nawet 3,7 metra.

Stary Rynek już rok jest wielkim placem budowy – i będzie nim przez większą część przyszłego roku, bo do jesieni. Trzeba wymienić całą infrastrukturę podziemną, zbudować zbiorniki retencyjne pod płytą, zbudować na nowo chodniki i płytę rynku, posadzić zieleń, przebudować Galerię Arsenał. Te prace sprawią, że serce Poznania będzie bardzie funkcjonalne i efektowne dla mieszkańców i gości, jednak do tego czasu muszą wytrwać przedsiębiorcy, którzy albo zamknęli swoje lokale, albo modlą się o klientów i zakończenie prac.

Na razie prace skupiają się na budowie lub renowacji przyłączy do budynków – wodnych, kanalizacyjnych, gazowych i elektroenergetycznych. W grudniu też dostarczono i montowano w wykopach ostatnie elementy zbiornika retencyjnego, zbudowanego w sąsiedztwie ratusza. To jeden z dwóch zespołów zbiorników – drugi jest przy Wadze. Ten przy Ratuszu i domkach budniczych jest większy, może zmieścić 624 metry sześcienne wody, a w największym miejscu jego pierścienie mają 3,7 metrów średnicy.

By je zmieścić, wykonano wykop głęboki na 6 metrów! Zbiorniki mają przejmować wodę deszczową, by nie zalewała kamienic w czasie ulew, a niektóre z nich dodatkowo mają zasilać tą wodą rośliny z czterech zaplanowanych na Rynku wysp zieleni.

Przypomnijmy: do tej pory archeolodzy odkopali drewniane rury wodociągowe, fundamenty tzw. Nowego Ratusza, podziemną trafostację z czasów międzywojennych i pozostałości po studzience w rejonie fontanny Apollina, do tego liczne artefakty z XV i XVI wieku, wiele monet – i niedawno – granat moździerzowy.

.Przebudowa rynku mocno utrudniła życie lokalnych przedsiębiorców, przede wszystkim z branży gastronomicznej. Te lokale, które funkcjonują – naturalnie bez charakterystycznych dla przedremontowego czasu ogródków, mają zapewnione dojścia dla pieszych, zostały też umieszczone na wlotach na Stary Rynek banery z mapą i nazwami czynnych lokali gastronomicznych.

Staromiejscy radni apelują jednak, by dla dobra przedsiębiorców nie czekać biernie na koniec przebudowy: miasto powinno już budować kampanię informacyjną zachęcającą do odwiedzania centrum Poznania, gdy już opuszczą je budowlańcy i pokazującą, że warto było przetrwać utrudnienia budowlane. Andrzej Rataj, przewodniczący Rady Osiedla Stare Miasto i radny miejski, podkreśla, że czekamy wszyscy na zakończenie remontów, ale życie i wyjątkowy klimat nie wrócą nagle po otwarciu ulic i że do tego potrzebna jest dobra strategia promocyjna.

- Warto wspierać staromiejskich przedsiębiorców. Należy pomagać im przetrwać czas remontów na poznańskim Starym Mieście! Władze miasta powinny w większym zakresie dostrzegać problemy osób prowadzących sklepy, restauracje, czy punkty usługowe – mówił Andrzej Rataj.-źródło-poznan.naszemiasto.pl
