Polish news channel TVN24 has cited a WikiLeaks report as saying the US Embassy had sent its representatives in 2008 to agitate local leaders and farmers to support genetically modified crops and they travelled some 5,000 miles all over Poland. But their efforts were thwarted by "the Poles' national character".
