The tree

Listening to the Golec Orkestra on DVD and The Charlie Brown Christmas Music, we put up our tree today. This year is different. we've made the total conversion to LED lights to avoid the yearly surprise burn out of the old kind of lights at any time while the tree is lighted. When we plugged in the last old line of lights this time, they didn't light and that was the last straw, into the garbage they went.

Our tree is artificial, for two reasons. The first, since we've had it for 7 years now, it has saved us money not having to buy a tree each year. Second, there is no mess to clean up when getting rid of a live tree. Yes, I like the smell of a real tree but if I wanted I could buy an aerosol spray with a pine scent to spray the tree. I don't buy aerosols. There are enough pollutants in the air already.

Under the tree is the little, store bought, manger. I would love to have the one my father made many years ago with the fence around it but it was given to my brother and I don't know what happened to it when he died. Now I only have pictures to remind me of it.

Zrobiliśmy całkowitą konwersję na światła LED, aby uniknąć rocznej niespodzianki wypalenia starych świateł w dowolnym momencie, gdy drzewo jest oświetlone. Kiedy tym razem podłączyliśmy ostatnią starą linię świateł, nie zapalili się i to była ostatnia kropla w śmieciach, które poszli.

Nasze drzewo jest sztuczne, z dwóch powodów. Pierwszy, odkąd mamy go od 7 lat, zaoszczędził nam pieniądze, nie musisz co roku kupować drzewa. Po drugie, nie ma bałaganu do sprzątania, gdy pozbędziesz się żywego drzewa. Tak, podoba mi się zapach prawdziwego drzewa, ale gdybym chciał, mógłbym kupić spray w aerozolu z sosnowym zapachem, żeby spryskać drzewo. Nie kupuję aerozoli. W powietrzu jest już wystarczająco dużo zanieczyszczeń.

Pod drzewem jest mały, sklep kupiony, żłób. Chciałbym mieć tego, który mój ojciec zrobił wiele lat temu, z ogrodzeniem wokół niego, ale zostało ono wydane mojemu bratu i nie wiem, co się z nim stało, gdy umarł. Teraz mam tylko zdjęcia, które mi o tym przypominają.
