New surprise.

I was surprised today to receive a message from cousin Tammi saying they are going to be visiting the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this October. They live in Texas and are taking a 2-month vacation including the U.P. They would like to visit the house I built but that won't be possible. No one lives there anymore but the owner has 2 dogs on the property that keep people away from it. 

It pains me to think of my house since they bought it. The cordwood walls were removed, the large windows were replaced with small ones and I'm sure that makes it darker inside the house during the day. They did make a road and bridge over the stream that allows you to drive up to the house. They blocked the road that went through my property to Steve & Joyce's stone house on a hill behind me. Steve had to build a new road just to his house. They were survivalists and never joined in with the community of 510 dwellers.

They will stay in Marquette for 5 days and I will see if my friend Mary can be a tour guide while there.

Byłem dziś zaskoczony, gdy otrzymałem wiadomość od kuzynki Tammi, że w październiku tego roku odwiedzą Górny Półwysep Michigan. Mieszkają w Teksasie i wybierają się na 2-miesięczne wakacje, w tym do U.P. Chcieliby odwiedzić dom, który zbudowałem, ale nie będzie to możliwe. Nikt już tam nie mieszka, ale właściciel ma na posesji 2 psy, które trzymają ludzi z dala od domu. 

Boli mnie myśl o moim domu, odkąd go kupili. Ściany z drewna kordowego zostały usunięte, duże okna zastąpiono małymi i jestem pewien, że przez to w domu jest ciemniej w ciągu dnia. Zrobili drogę i most nad strumieniem, który pozwala podjechać pod dom. Zablokowali drogę, która przechodziła przez moją posiadłość do kamiennego domu Steve'a i Joyce na wzgórzu za mną. Steve musiał zbudować nową drogę do swojego domu. Byli survivalowcami i nigdy nie dołączyli do społeczności 510 mieszkańców.

Zostaną w Marquette przez 5 dni i zobaczę, czy moja przyjaciółka Mary może być tam przewodnikiem.
