The stationary and planned archaeological research that was supposed to help learn about the history of the Royal Castle on Mount Przemysl resumed in August 2023, after almost 20 years.

The most interesting discoveries, however, awaited the researchers in the basement of the administrative building. Although it was only erected in 1796, it turned out to hide an earlier building - a unique kitchen.

For many decades it was assumed that the original Royal Kitchen was a medieval residential tower - a donjon - rising above a cliff overlooking the Bogdanka River, to be converted into a kitchen in later times, museum staff report. - Now, after the research conducted so far, this hypothesis should be firmly rejected and it should be considered that from the moment this building was erected it served as a Royal Kitchen with a well located in the corner of the building, so far known only from written sources.

This means that Poznan is home to, if not the oldest, then one of the oldest royal kitchens preserved on Polish soil. Indeed, the previously known facilities date back to the 16th century. The Pozna艅 monument, on the other hand, dates back to the 14th or 15th century. Source-POZnan*

Stacjonarne i planowane badania archeologiczne, kt贸re mia艂y pom贸c w poznaniu historii Zamku Kr贸lewskiego na G贸rze Przemys艂a zosta艂y wznowione w sierpniu 2023 roku, po prawie 20 latach.

Jednak najciekawsze odkrycia czeka艂y  na badaczy w podziemiach budynku administracyjnego. Cho膰 wzniesiono go dopiero w 1796 roku, okaza艂o si臋, 偶e kryje on wcze艣niejsz膮 budowl臋 - unikatow膮 kuchni臋.

Przez wiele dziesi臋cioleci zak艂adano, 偶e pierwotn膮 kuchni膮 kr贸lewsk膮 by艂a 艣redniowieczna wie偶a mieszkalna - don偶on - wznosz膮ca si臋 nad klifem z widokiem na rzek臋 Bogdank臋, kt贸ra w p贸藕niejszych czasach mia艂a zosta膰 przekszta艂cona w kuchni臋 - informuj膮 muzealnicy.
