Growing up near Chicago, I remember the stockyards and slaughterhouses in that city. Eventually, they were torn down. Poznan also had its own type of buildings and are going through renovations now. Unlike Chicago, Poznan is keeping some of the old buildings. The difference is there are walking tours of the Old Slaughterhouse. The entrance was made possible by the investor who plans to revitalize the building.

On Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. you could see the interior of the Old Slaughterhouse.

The building was commissioned in 1900 and ceased operations in 2000. Groups of visitors entered consecutively at full hours. During the walk, participants could see a mock-up of the Old Slaughterhouse, as well as the former restaurant hall and a room with a mural by street art artist Siguel Martin.

The Resursa, which once housed a stock exchange, an elegant restaurant and a hotel, was also made uniquely accessible.

The tour was made possible thanks to an investor who will undertake the revitalization of the building and restore the Old Slaughterhouse to its new usefulness.

W trakcie spaceru uczestnicy mogli zobaczyć makietę Starej Rzeźni, jak i dawną salę restauracyjną oraz pomieszczenie z muralem Siguela Martina, artysty streetartowego.

Wyjątkowo udostępniona została również Resursa, mieszcząca niegdyś giełdę, elegancką restaurację i hotel.

Zwiedzanie możliwe było dzięki inwestorowi, który podejmie się rewitalizacji obiektu i przywrócenia Starej Rzeźni nowej użyteczności.
