Bicycles.

In Poznań it's possible to rent a bicycle in 100 different locations. It started in 2012 and expanded to 1200 bicycles. For the past six years, Nextbike has been the operator of the system, but with the end of this cycling season, the contract signed with the company ends and ZTM has already announced a tender for selecting the operator for the next three years.The tasks of the new operator will include the management of the existing system and the creation of a new unstable system. The bicycles included in this system will be equipped with GPS transmitters and a locking lock, and users will be able to leave them anywhere in the area of ​​the designated zone. In the initial period, the new system will have 500 bikes and will be expanded every year by a further 100 bicycles. 

It seems to me this reduction from 1200 to 500 bicycles in the beginning of the new contract should be a big cause for concern. That is less than half of what we have now. Yes, the addition of the GPS system is a good thing but the reduction is not. Why change companies? By adding 100 bicycles a year it will take 7 years to return to 1200 bicycles IF ZTM is still the operator then.

Yes, it's Thursday and that means food shopping day.  First I had to get gasoline for the car, 27.5 liters(7 1/4gal.). 136PLN($36), then it was off to Carrefour for the food. We spent 123 PLN

Today the Michigan cousin are going to visit Zakopane.

Przez ostatnie sześć lat Nextbike był operatorem systemu, ale wraz z końcem tego sezonu rowerowego umowa z firmą wygasa, a ZTM ogłosił już przetarg na wybór operatora na następne trzy lata.
Zadania nowego operatora będą obejmować zarządzanie istniejącym systemem i stworzenie nowego niestałego systemu. Rowery wchodzące w skład tego systemu będą wyposażone w nadajniki GPS i zamek blokujący, a użytkownicy będą mogli zostawić je w dowolnym miejscu na obszarze wyznaczonej strefy. W początkowym okresie nowy system będzie miał 500 rowerów i będzie rozszerzany co roku o kolejne 100 rowerów.

Wydaje mi się, że redukcja z 1200 do 500 rowerów na początku nowej umowy powinna być powodem do niepokoju. To mniej niż połowa tego, co mamy teraz. Tak, dodanie systemu GPS to dobra rzecz, ale zmniejszenie liczby rowerów już nie. Po co zmieniać firmy? Dodając 100 rowerów rocznie, powrót do 1200 rowerów zajmie 7 lat. JEŻELI ZTM nadal będzie operatorem do tego czasu.


Tak, jest czwartek, a to oznacza dzień na zakup żywności. Najpierw musiałem zatankować benzynę do samochodu, 27,5 litra (7 1/4 gal.) za 136PLN (36 USD), a następnie pojechaliśmy do Carrefour po żywność. Wydaliśmy 123 PLN.
