Last Saturday, the young cousin I first met in 2008, Nora Bekalarek, and helped arrange her first visit to the United States, got married. She was 15 years old at that time. In the U.S. she stayed with the Dittenber family in Michigan from the Rajewski side of the family tree. She also travelled to California to meet other family members. She invited all of the Dittenber family to the wedding, including the grandmother, Marilyn Mapes. They arrived last Friday and at this writing are still in S艂upca. Fortunately, the weather has been very good since they arrived.
This past Sunday morning, as we were having coffee at Empik, about 30-40 women arrived on bicycles dressed in old style clothing. We were curious what was the reason and found out they were filming a segment of a new movies telling the story of how the Polish women's suffragette movement influenced the future of Poland.
