Rus.and India.

The tree growing near Rogalin may be even over 800 years old!
This is the result of the latest research carried out by scientists. According to TVP3 Pozna艅, Rus may not have been around 520 years old, as so far as it had been assumed. It is 150 years more than what has been considered to be the oldest Bartek oak in Poland so far. The research was carried out by drilling a well in the tree. However, the data does not allow to specify a specific age with 100% certainty. These are estimates.
Although the most famous in Rogalin, it is Rus (about 920 cm in circumference), Czech, (about 735 cm in circumference) and Lech (about 630 cm in circumference), oaks with a circumference of more than 2 meters have been counted here. This is one of the largest natural clusters of oak trees in the country and Europe. They stand behind the Rogalin Palace near Pozna艅.
Joan and I have visited the palace 3 different times. Those 3 trees stand behind the gardens in back of the palace. The palace, itself, was renovated a few years ago with money form the European Union. Like every country that has it's share of idiots, vandals tried to set fire to those trees and they did some damage before the fires were put out. However, the trees are still growing although now some of their branches have to be supported by iron poles. I hope they caught the vandals and they are in jail.
My visit to the citizenship office only confirmed what I thought. Joan's birth and marriage license still have to be registered in the Civil Registry office before I can apply for citizenship. So, we are back to square one, but, enough about that.

The U.S. pulled out of The Paris Climate agreement but volunteers in India planted more than 66 million trees in just 12 hours last weekend in a record-breaking environmental drive.

About 1.5 million people were involved in the huge plantation campaign, in which saplings were placed along the Narmada river in the state of Madhya Pradesh throughout Sunday.

India committed under the Paris Agreement to increasing its forests by five million hectares before 2030 to combat climate change.

Last year volunteers in Uttar Pradesh state set a world record by planting more than 50 million trees in one day.

Observers from Guinness World Records also monitored Sunday’s plantation and are expected to confirm in the coming weeks that the effort set a new high.

The campaign was organised by the Madhya Pradesh government, with 24 distracts of the Narmada river basin chosen as planting sites to increase the saplings’ chances of survival. Volunteers planted more than 20 different species of trees.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the state’s chief minister, described the efforts as a “historic day”.

The only question I have is how many planted trees will it take to nullify the amount of forests that are being clear-cut in countries like the U.S., Brazil, Poland and other countries?

Drzewo rosn膮ce w pobli偶u Rogalina mo偶e mie膰 nawet ponad 800 lat!
To wynik najnowszych bada艅 przeprowadzonych przez naukowc贸w. Wed艂ug TVP3 Pozna艅, Rus mo偶e nie mie膰 oko艂o 520 lat, jak zak艂adano. To s膮 szacunki.

Cho膰 najs艂ynniejszy w Rogalinie to Rus (oko艂o 920 cm obwodu), Czech (oko艂o 735 cm obwodu) i Lech (oko艂o 630 cm obwodu), to policzono tu d臋by o obwodzie wi臋kszym ni偶 2 metry . Jest to jedno z najwi臋kszych naturalnych skupisk d臋b贸w w kraju i Europie.

Joan i ja odwiedzili艣my pa艂ac 3 razy. Jednak drzewa wci膮偶 rosn膮, cho膰 teraz niekt贸re z ich ga艂臋zi musz膮 by膰 podparte 偶elaznymi s艂upami. Mam nadziej臋, 偶e z艂apali wandali i s膮 w wi臋zieniu.

Moja wizyta w biurze meldunkowym potwierdzi艂a tylko to, o czym my艣la艂em.

W ogromn膮 kampani臋 zalesiania, w kt贸rej sadzonki by艂y posadzone wzd艂u偶 rzeki Narmada w stanie Madhya Pradesh, zaanga偶owano w niedziel臋 oko艂o 1,5 miliona ludzi.

W ubieg艂ym roku wolontariusze w stanie Uttar Pradesh ustanowili rekord 艣wiata, sadz膮c ponad 50 milion贸w drzew w ci膮gu jednego dnia.

Obserwatorzy z Guinness World Records monitorowali r贸wnie偶 niedzieln膮 akcj臋 zalesiania i oczekuje si臋, 偶e w nadchodz膮cych tygodniach potwierdz膮, 偶e zbiorowy wysi艂ek ustanowi艂 now膮 liczb臋 zasadze艅.

Kampania zosta艂a zorganizowana przez rz膮d Madhya Pradesh, w 24 rozproszonych miejscach w dorzeczu rzeki Narmada wybranymi, jako miejsca do sadzenia, aby zwi臋kszy膰 szanse przetrwania m艂odych drzewek. Wolontariusze posadzili ponad 20 r贸偶nych gatunk贸w drzew.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, g艂贸wny minister stanu, opisa艂 te wysi艂ki jako „historyczny dzie艅”.

Mam tylko jedno pytanie: ile drzew trzeba b臋dzie posadzi膰, aby zlikwidowa膰 ilo艣膰 las贸w, kt贸re s膮 wycinane w takich krajach, jak USA, Brazylia, Polska i inne?
