Sunday, a day of just resting for both of us. No push for exercises, no walker, no standing on the balcony. Joan has accomplished a lot since we started and deserves a break, me too. We reclined in our chairs, watched movies, a few episodes of a series. played tic-tac-toe, had dinner from the neighbor and ate the last of the pastries. Only Skype conversations with 2 friends and Joan's daughter were the other things we did. Oh, except for me making breakfast, lunch, doing the dishes and washing a load of clothes. We also spent an hour listening to the music of Arvo Part, a composer from Estonia. Very relaxing music.2 hour/
This morning I had mixed emotions. While on a Skype call and Joan sitting in her recliner chair in the other room, after 1/2 hour. I stopped to check on her. To my shock, she was sitting in MY chair.
My first emotion, internally, was fear. Fear that she might have fallen over and hit her head, broken an arm, a rib, etc. My second emotion was Joy. The joy that she was able to get up out of her chair without assistance, walk without her walker, and sense enough to know she couldn't walk all the way to the bathroom so she sat down. It's the first time she walked unassisted. That is a GREAT step forward.
Niedziele, Dzie艅 odpoczynku dla nas obojga. 呕adnego popychania do 膰wicze艅, spacer贸w, stania na balkonie. Roz艂o偶yli艣my si臋 w fotelach, ogl膮dali艣my filmy, kilka odcink贸w serialu. zagrali艣my w tic-tac-toe, zjedli艣my obiad od s膮siadki i ostatnie ciastka. Tylko rozmowy przez Skype'a z dw贸jk膮 przyjaci贸艂 i c贸rk膮 Joan to by艂y inne rzeczy, kt贸re robili艣my. Oh, poza tym, 偶e ja zrobi艂em 艣niadanie, lunch, zmy艂em naczynia i wypra艂em stert臋 ubra艅. Sp臋dzili艣my te偶 godzin臋 s艂uchaj膮c muzyki Arvo Part, kompozytora z Estonii.
Przerwa艂em rozmow臋, 偶eby sprawdzi膰, co u niej. Ku mojemu szokowi, siedzia艂a na moim fotelu.
Moj膮 pierwsz膮 wewn臋trzn膮 emocj膮, by艂 strach. Strach, 偶e mog艂a si臋 przewr贸ci膰 i uderzy膰 si臋 w g艂ow臋, z艂ama膰 r臋k臋, 偶ebro itp. Moj膮 drug膮 emocj膮 by艂a rado艣膰. Rado艣膰, 偶e mog艂a wsta膰 z krzes艂a bez pomocy, chodzi膰 bez swojego chodzika i mie膰 wystarczaj膮co du偶o wyczucia, by wiedzie膰, 偶e nie mo偶e doj艣膰 a偶 do 艂azienki, wi臋c usiad艂a. To pierwszy raz, kiedy chodzi艂a bez pomocy. To wielki krok naprz贸d.
Me detuve a verla.
