Landlord and flooding.

Waiting all night for the landlord to come with the papers Joan needs for her application as he said he would. The flooding in souther Poland is subsiding but a flood alert has been announced in the western region of Wielkopolska, especially in villages and towns located along the Warta River. Some inhabitants of Kalisz, which was severely affected by the flood, are trying to pump out water from basements but emergency services warn that it may disrupt the stability of the flooded buildings and advise to wait till the water outside subsides.

“The city of Poznan is not in danger of being flooded,” the governor of Wielkopolska Piotr Florek assured. However, on the local news they are asking for volunteers to put up sandbags on the Warta. Koniń has already some flooding and it said that Golina was also in danger. I called to cousin Andrzej and he said that they were not in any danger, the news was talking about the parts of Golina close to the Warta and they are not close to it. That was good to know.

The northern region of Pomerania is fighting the wave on the Vistula River, which has already reached the area. The towns of Tczew and Gniew are the most endangered by the flood. Almost 300 fire fighters worked all night to protect town centres and several families were evacuated. In Pruszcz Gdanski firefighters are repairing embankments damaged by beavers and wild dogs.

"Miasto Poznań nie jest zagrożone zalane", wojewoda Piotr Florek Wielkopolski zapewnił. Jednak na lokalne wiadomości proszą chętnych do stawiania worki z piaskiem na Warcie. Konin już kilka powodzi i powiedział, że Golina była w niebezpieczeństwie. Zadzwoniłem do kuzyna Andrzej i powiedział, że nie były w niebezpieczeństwie, wiadomości mówił o części do Golina w pobliżu Warty i nie są blisko. To było dobrze wiedzieć.

Północnej Pomorzu walczy fala na Wiśle, która osiągnęła już okolicy. Miast Tczew i Gniew są najbardziej zagrożone przez powódź.
