Shangai Expo 2010 Polish Pavilion

Splitting tree
Dandelions

I love architecture. Today I received a link to Polands architectural design for its national pavilion in World Expo Shanghai 2010, presenting a geometrical structure covered with paper-cutting patterns. The design of the 3,000-square-meter Poland Pavilion is the winning entry chosen from 20 candidates in the designing competition and was designed by Arch. Marcin Mostafa, Arch. Natalia Paszkowska and Arch. Wojciech Kakowski. The designs are based on traditional Polish folkart. I think the building is amazing so I posted the pictures and here is the story. http://www.archtracker.com/polish-pavilion-for-expo-2010-shanghai-china/2009/05/
Last night we went to our English mass and it was back to normal, only 5 people. Two of the girls in front of us must have been from the music school because they were exceptionanl in singing the hymns.
This afternoon Joan and I went to Malta Lake for a walk outside and to see what changes were going on there. They are building the Aquapark overlooking the lake on the north side. Lots of dandelions are evident everywhere as well as flowering crab apple trees. Malta is a 6km walk around the lake but we didn't do it all today. It has a bike/rollerblade/ walkway built but it's not the best place to walk during a Sunday because of all the bikers and rollerbladers. It's good during the weekdays but on the weekends it's better to go to the country and walk an old, unused road like we did last week. We made a stop at the Rynek on the way back from Malta, had coffee and watched the parade of pedestrians. There are a few less cafes than last year but our favorite is still there with the same waitresses from our first visit in 2007.

Kocham architektury. Dzisiaj otrzyma艂em link do Polski projekt architektoniczny krajowego pawilon Shanghai World Expo w 2010 r., przedstawiaj膮ce geometryczne struktury pokryte wzor贸w ci臋cia papieru. Marcin Mostafa, Arch. Natalia Paszkowska i Arch. Wojciech Kakowski. Projekty oparte s膮 na tradycyjnych polskich folkart. My艣l臋, 偶e budynek jest niesamowity wi臋c napisa艂em tutaj zdj臋cia i jest historia. http://www.archtracker.com/polish-pavilion-for-expo-2010-shanghai-china/2009/05/
Ostatniej nocy ruszyli艣my do naszego angielski masy i wr贸ci艂o do normy, tylko 5 os贸b. Dwie z dziewcz膮t przed nami musi by膰 od szko艂y muzycznej, poniewa偶 by艂y exceptionanl w 艣piewanie hymn贸w.
Zrobili艣my przystanek na Rynku w drodze powrotnej z Malty, mieli艣my kaw臋 i ogl膮da艂 parad臋 pieszych.
