In the center of Poznań's Old Market Square there is a building, built in the times of the Polish People's Republic, supposedly in order not to leave the inhabitants too much room for political rallies against the communist power. It is the Arsenał(Military museum) building located on two sides of the street of Jan Baptiste Quadro in the middle of the Old Market. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of regaining independence and the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Wielkopolska Uprising, it is worth to demolish this building so that no one is frightened by its appearance. A councilor will ask how much it the demolition would cost and whether the president is willing to take such action. The answer has not yet been prepared. The idea of demolishing the Arsenal is not new. It's been around for years. Some cannot imagine the Old Market without characteristic buildings and others would like to get rid of them. This summer the city announced that the facilities would be upgraded during the reconstruction of the Market Square. now there is another thought.
IF plans for the renovation go ahead...........and they get the money for them from the European Union, in 2 years(supposedly), our rynek will look completely different. There is a video on the right side.
