International Ice Festival

 

For the last 7 years, around the 1st week in December, there is an event in the Rynek called the Ice Festival. In this event sponsored by the Stihl chainsaw company, artists from Poland and other countries, carve beautiful sculptures out of large blocks of ice. How many hours it takes depends on what the design of the artist is. How long the whole event lasts depends on the weather. Below 0c and the sculptures remain, above 0c and they melt away. Viewing the sculptures at night is impressive because they are illuminated by various colored lights. This year there were artists from Poland, Sweden, England, Malaysia, Philippines, Bulgaria, Japan, Spain, France, Russia, Italy and Switzerland. Przez ostatnie 7 lat, około 1 tygodnia grudnia, odbywa się impreza na Rynku pod nazwą Ice Festival. W tym wydarzeniu sponsorowanym przez firmę Piła łańcuchowa Stihl, artystów z Polski i innych krajów, wyrzeźbuj piękne rzeźby z dużych bloków lodu. Ile godzin to trwa, zależy od tego, jaki jest projekt artysty. Jak długo całe wydarzenie trwa, zależy od pogody. Poniżej 0c i rzeźby pozostają powyżej 0c i topnieją. Oglądanie rzeźb w nocy jest imponujące, ponieważ są oświetlane różnymi kolorowymi światłami.
