Versailles Part 2

So, day 2 was much better after sleeping enough to be rested. I had to get up early in order to move the car from the free parking area close to our flat by 8:00 or pay. The flat has an escellent location in regards to the palace, only 1 ½ blocks away and and also has a very nice small restaurant right on the corner close to it. We had dinner there last night and it was excellent and the atmosphere also.

We started out at a Creperie for breakfast because we wanted to same French crepes. What a dissapointment!!.. They were served browned, like over-cooked of fried, like scrambled eggs when they turn brown from too much heat. I couldn't believe it. They didn't come rolled up with the ingredients inside, they were just laid flat on the plate and what ever you wanted in the crepe was put in the center of it. How strange it was! I ordered a apricot crepe with apricot jam, banana, walnuts, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. They served it in a glass like a big sundae and they called it a apricot crepe. I always thought the French invented the crepe but if the brown version is the original, I prefer the Polish version.

After breakfast, since the sun was out, we went back to the palace to take a few more ourdoors, sun shining, pictues of it, the crowds of people waiting to in, that building with the 3d painted walls and people.

By 16:00 we returned to our little space for a rest. We decided to try the little restaurant on the corner for dinner at 19:30. We got there just in time to get the last, free table for 2. Everything else was reserved. It is a nice small, local restaurant with about 20 small tables in all and good service. I had veal with mozzarella, walnuts,and fine spaghetti. For dessert I had apricot tiramisu.

We were in bed by midnight to get enough sleep for the trip back home. BUT WAIT..................there's still more tomorrow.

 A wi臋c dzie艅 2 by艂 znacznie lepszy po spaniu na tyle, by odpocz膮膰. Musia艂em wcze艣nie wsta膰, aby przenie艣膰 samoch贸d z darmowego parkingu blisko naszego mieszkania o 8:00 lub zap艂aci膰. Mieszkanie ma wyj膮tkow膮 lokalizacj臋 w stosunku do pa艂acu, tylko 1 ½ przecznic dalej, a tak偶e ma bardzo 艂adn膮 ma艂膮 restauracj臋 tu偶 przy rogu. Udali艣my si臋 tam na kolacj臋 ostatniej nocy i to by艂o doskona艂e, a atmosfera r贸wnie偶.

Zaczynali艣my w Creperie na 艣niadanie, poniewa偶 chcieli艣my zrobi膰 te same francuskie nale艣niki. C贸偶 za niezadowolenie !! .. Podawano im zrumienione, jak przesadzone sma偶one, jak jajecznica, kiedy staj膮 si臋 br膮zowe z powodu zbyt wysokiej temperatury. Nie mog艂em w to uwierzy膰. Nie zosta艂y zwini臋te ze sk艂adnikami w 艣rodku, po prostu le偶a艂y p艂asko na talerzu, a to, co chcia艂o si臋 w kremie, zosta艂o umieszczone po艣rodku. Jakie to by艂o dziwne! Zam贸wi艂em morelow膮 krep臋 z d偶emem morelowym, bananem, orzechami, lodami waniliowymi i bit膮 艣mietan膮. Podali j膮 w szklance jak du偶y lody i nazwali j膮 morelow膮 krep膮. Zawsze my艣la艂em, 偶e Francuzi wymy艣lili krep臋, ale je艣li wersja br膮zowa jest oryginalna, wol臋 wersj臋 polsk膮.


Po 艣niadaniu, odk膮d s艂o艅ce si臋 sko艅czy艂o, wr贸cili艣my do pa艂acu, by wzi膮膰 jeszcze kilka naszych drzwi, s艂o艅ce, jego obrazy, t艂umy ludzi czekaj膮cych w 艣rodku, budynek z pomalowanymi na 3d 艣cianami i lud藕mi.


Do 16:00 wr贸cili艣my do naszej ma艂ej przestrzeni na odpoczynek. Postanowili艣my spr贸bowa膰 ma艂ej restauracji na rogu na kolacj臋 o 19:30. Dotarli艣my na czas, aby uzyska膰 ostatni, darmowy stolik dla 2. Wszystko inne zosta艂o zarezerwowane. Jest to mi艂a, ma艂a, lokalna restauracja z oko艂o 20 stolikami i dobr膮 obs艂ug膮. Mia艂em ciel臋cin臋 z mozzarell膮, orzechami i delikatnym spaghetti. Na deser mia艂em tiramisu z moreli.


Byli艣my w 艂贸偶ku do p贸艂nocy, 偶eby si臋 wyspa膰. ALE POCZEKAJ! .................. jest jeszcze wi臋cej jutro.:-)
