Day 4

I set the alarm for 9:00 so I could be with Joan by 10:00. It's about a ten-minute drive and Cari told me last night there is an hourly bus from Ribera to the Los Arcos during the week with a little change on the weekend. When I return the rental car and if Joan is still in the hospital, it won't be a problem getting to her. That was good news.

In the morning I talked with the neurologist and said they will do another CT scan to see what they can do about Joan's eye movement. At present, they only move from the far right to the central vision but no further.

Joan was more talkative this morning and even made a few jokes. While I was there they gave her an assisted shower and that made her feel better. I took her toothbrush, toothpaste and a hairbrush to use. The strength in her left hand was stronger today. I stayed for 3 hours then came back to the house to clean it up a little. I've done nothing like that since Monday. For breakfast, I dragged myself to the beachfront and had a tostada and coffee.

When I went back in the afternoon Joan was having another test done. She returned shortly thereafter and it was time for lunch. She ate most of it and then they got her out of bed to sit in a chair for a while.  When she was tired from it they put her back into bed. Her eyes had a little more movement in the afternoon and once, she was able to follow my finger with her eyes.

Now, just returning from the evening visit, I'm back......but am I really? No, I can't say I am 100% back into my blog because I'm even dreaming about Joan in the hospital! SOoooooo, WHAT AM I DOING HERE? I'm telling you about Joan. It drains every other of everything out of me to see her again like this. Figure that out!

Her eyes really are making a slow process to regain their usual position. Her eyes moved to the left when 2 ladies entered the room and spoke English to her. They were from a volunteer club that checks on foreigners to see if they need any help. I needed help, I lost my glasses for reading and practicing Egyptian Hieroglyphics. I can't believe I spelled that last word right!

WOW! I just walked into the kitchen area to open the little refrigerator when I heard something starting to crumble under my feet. I looked down and...LO AND BEHOLD....my lost glasses on the dark floor. Incredible.

It was a good night. All of the wires from machines attached to Joan were gone and we were able to hold hands again. It started from the beginning for me, I never wanted to let go. I never will. My one constant prayer in life, when I do pray-at anytime, is that we both leave these bodies together.

Ustawi艂em alarm na 9:00, 偶ebym m贸g艂 by膰 z Joan przed 10:00. Kiedy zwr贸c臋 wynaj臋ty samoch贸d i je艣li Joan nadal b臋dzie w szpitalu, nie b臋dzie problemu z dotarciem do niej. To by艂y dobre wie艣ci.

Joan by艂a dzi艣 rano bardziej rozmowna i nawet powiedzia艂a kilka 偶art贸w. Zabra艂am jej szczoteczk臋 do z臋b贸w, past臋 do z臋b贸w i szczotk臋 do w艂os贸w. Si艂a w jej lewej r臋ce by艂a dzi艣 wi臋ksza.

Kiedy wr贸ci艂em po po艂udniu, Joan mia艂a wykonywany kolejny test. Nied艂ugo potem wr贸ci艂a i by艂 czas na lunch. Zjad艂a wi臋kszo艣膰, a potem wyci膮gn臋li j膮 z 艂贸偶ka, 偶eby usiad艂a na chwil臋 w fotelu. Kiedy by艂a zm臋czona, po艂o偶yli j膮 z powrotem do 艂贸偶ka.

Zrozum to!
Jej oczy powoli wracaj膮 do normy, by odzyska膰 swoj膮 zwyk艂膮 pozycj臋. Ja potrzebowa艂em pomocy, zgubi艂em okulary do czytania i praktykuj臋 egipskie hieroglify. Nie mog臋 uwierzy膰, 偶e dobrze przeliterowa艂em to ostatnie s艂owo!

WOW! Niesamowite.

To by艂a dobra noc. Wszystko jakby zacz臋艂o si臋 dla mnie od pocz膮tku, nigdy nie chcia艂em pozwoli膰, 偶eby odesz艂o. Nigdy nie odpuszcz臋. Moj膮 jedyn膮 sta艂膮 modlitw膮 w 偶yciu, kiedy si臋 modl臋 - w ka偶dej chwili - jest, 偶eby艣my oboje opu艣cili te cia艂a razem.
