Last night & Rant #13

Last night we got home too late to write. Friday night is spent with the language group and then dinner together. Lately we have been doing crossword puzzles in the bar before we go to eat. Hilde and Anton are returning to Norway today but will be back March 22nd, a day after we leave. The group is still smaller than last year. Last night there were only 8 people for dinner.

Another clothes washing today and then Joan and I went for a long walk, half of the way to Lo Pagan, the next town on the boardwalk going east. We stopped for a coffee along the way and to sit in the sun and watch the people going by.

And now for my Saturday rant...…..

I am disgusted, appalled, saddened, but not even a little surprised. The "Republican Party" Senators have acquitted Donal J. Trump of all wrong-doing in the Ukraine scandal and obstruction of justice. There is no Senate now, it is only occupied by the majority of Trump flunkies. There is no President of the "United" States. It is only a matter of time before they name him King for life.

The millions of lives that have been sacrificed since the beginning of the country have been waisted as the Senate has turned it's back on the Constitution. Now, there is ONLY 1 real Republican, Mitt Romney. He was the only one who voted for conviction in the fake Senate impeachment trial.

Why have the American people allowed this to happen? How is it possible that a pathological liar remains in the White House. Why do 43% of Americans continue to support this farce? Have they no brains or morals so low that they accept everything he does?  Do none of them recognize the similarity with what happened in Germany years ago?  I feel sorry for them, especially since some of them are the same cousins I grew up with.

It's not just Trump but his whole administration. None of them are qualified for the positions they hold. How can you nominate someone to be the head of Health and Services when he was the one who tripled the cost of insulin. The head of the Education system is a woman who does not believe in public schools.

The November election is the last chance to stop the destruction of the country. Whether or not the non-Trump supporters will go to the polls and actually vote is a guessing game. Some are not sure, one way or the other, who to vote for. Some may not even vote because their candidate did not win the Democratic nomination. Women outnumber men in the total count so they could make the difference. Then, f course, there are the young or first-time voters. Do they even consider the danger the country faces if Trump is re-elected?

All Joan and I can do is vote and we certainly will. If for no other reason than to nullify 2 votes of Trump-loving cousins.

Ostatniej nocy wróciliśmy do domu za późno, żeby pisać. Piątkową noc spędza się z grupą językową, a następnie razem kolację. Ostatnio robiliśmy krzyżówki w barze, zanim pójdziemy coś zjeść. Hilde i Anton wracają dziś do Norwegii, ale wrócą 22 marca, dzień po naszym wyjeździe. Grupa jest wciąż mniejsza niż w ubiegłym roku. Wczoraj wieczorem na kolację było tylko 8 osób.

Kolejne pranie dzisiaj, a potem Joan i ja poszliśmy na długi spacer, w połowie drogi do Lo Pagan, następnego miasta na deptaku idącym na wschód. Po drodze zatrzymaliśmy się na kawę, usiedliśmy na słońcu i obserwowaliśmy przechodzących ludzi.

A teraz mój sobotni rant .. ..

Jestem zniesmaczony, przerażony, zasmucony, ale nawet ani trochę nie zaskoczony. Senatorowie "Partii Republikańskiej" uniewinnili Donalda J. Trumpa od wszelkich przestępstw w ukraińskim skandalu i utrudnianiu działania organów sprawiedliwości. Teraz nie ma żadnego Senatu, jest on okupowany przez większość fagasów Trumpa. Nie ma żadnego prezydenta "Stanów Zjednoczonych". To tylko kwestia czasu, zanim nazwą go królem życia.

Miliony istnień ludzkich, które zostały poświęcone od początku istnienia kraju, zostały zmarnowane, ponieważ Senat odwrócił się od konstytucji. Teraz jest tylko jeden prawdziwy republikanin, Mitt Romney. Tylko on głosował za skazaniem w fałszywym procesie impeachmentu prowadzonego przez Senatu.

Dlaczego Amerykanie na to pozwolili? Jak to możliwe, że patologiczny kłamca pozostaje w Białym Domu. Dlaczego 43% Amerykanów nadal popiera tę farsę? Czy mają tak słaby umysł i moralność, że akceptują wszystko, co on robi? Czy żaden z nich nie rozpoznaje podobieństwa do tego, co wydarzyło się w Niemczech lata temu? Współczuję im, zwłaszcza że niektórzy z nich są tymi samymi kuzynami, z którymi dorastałem.

To nie tylko Trump, ale cała jego administracja. Żaden z nich nie posiada kwalifikacji na stanowisko, które zajmuje. Jak można nominować kogoś na szefa służby zdrowia, skoro to on potroił koszty insuliny. Szefem systemu edukacji jest kobieta, która nie wierzy w szkoły publiczne.

Listopadowe wybory są ostatnią szansą na powstrzymanie destrukcji kraju. To, czy zwolennicy "non-Trump" pójdą do urn i faktycznie zagłosują, jest zgadywanką. Niektórzy nie są pewni, w ten czy inny sposób, na kogo głosować. Niektórzy mogą nawet nie głosować, ponieważ ich kandydat nie wygrał demokratycznej nominacji. Kobiety przeważają liczebnie nad mężczyznami, więc mogą zrobić różnicę. Następnie, oczywiście, są młodzi lub głosujący po raz pierwszy. Czy w ogóle biorą pod uwagę niebezpieczeństwo, na jakie narażony jest kraj, jeśli Trump zostanie ponownie wybrany?

To, co Joanna i ja możemy zrobić, to tylko głosować i na pewno to zrobimy. Jeśli nie ma innego powodu, jak unieważnienie 2 głosów kuzynów kochających Trumpa.
