No skills.

Sometimes communication skills are lacking. For example; Last Wednesday I gave a message, written in Polish, to the receptionist downstairs to get new prescriptions for Joan. She read it, understood it, and said she would email me the code numbers I need to take to the Apteka in order to get the medicine. She said I would have them on Friday  Friday office hours were almost over and still no email. I called her and she said I would have them on Saturday. Saturday passed and no email. Joan will be without medicines this Wednesday. I told my story to my friend Marcin and asked him to call her, since he speaks Polish, and ask where is the email. She said to call back at 13:30 and speak to the doctor. Last Wednesday she told me she would speak to the doctor.

13:30-Receptionist said the doctor signed the prescriptions and she will send them to me in SMS.
17:00-Still no SMS. Marcin called back. The receptionist said the doctor signed the prescriptions and she will call me with them. This time she did and now I have them.

Joan and I were looking through old pictures today of our time in Michigan. I miss the house I built.

Powiedziała, żeby oddzwonić o 13:30 i porozmawiać z lekarzem. W zeszłą środę powiedziała mi, że porozmawia z lekarzem.

13:30 Recepcjonistka powiedziała, że lekarz podpisał recepty, a ona wyśle mi je SMS-em.
17:00. Wciąż nie ma sms-ów. Marcin zadzwonił ponownie. Recepcjonistka powiedziała, że lekarz podpisał recepty, a ona zadzwoni do mnie. Tym razem to zrobiła i teraz mam kody.

Dzisiaj Joan i ja przeglądamy stare zdjęcia z czasów w Michigan.

Marcin volvió a llamar.

  1. What happened to the house? Did you ever go back to see it? Seems like Joan is slowly improving.

  3. Helen, I lived in the U.P on Cty. Rd 510 for 4 years where I built my house in the forest. Joan and I lived for 5 years in Skandia at the end of a dirt road.

  4. John, I eventually sold it to a nut job belonging to a survivalist group. The husband blew his brains out while sitting in front of his children. When his oldest son got older, he did the same thing. The wife still lives there. Eric and I went back years later to see it. They had knocked out all the walls of cordwood and replaced it with gypsum board. The big windows were gone and small widows were only seen. It must have been dark inside. It wasn't MY house anymore.
