>From the Pap News agency: A leading Polish expert on storks said his country can expect an early and very cold winter based on the sudden departure of the migrating birds in mid-August. Professor Leszek Jerzak of the University of Zielona Gora told the Polish Pap news agency that newborn storks began heading south to their African wintering grounds before the traditonal Aug 24th date.
he said the adult parents will soon follow their young on the 6,000 mile migration .
