Corpus Christi day in Poland. Everything is closed and it seems like Sunday. It's a religious holiday of mass and a procession. The most important ritual of Corpus Christi is the Procession. For this event, the entire parish assembled in the finest dress. The Procession was comprised of clergy, special guilds or groups, and families. Children in First Communion dress preceded the Blessed Sacrament dropping roses or other flower petals to create a carpet for the approaching Eucharist. Altar boys, clergy, prominent citizens with guild and society banners of silk, and others followed in the procession. The Holy Eucharist was itself transported in a processional Monstrance, carried by the priest. The Monstrance was further protected by an embroidered silk canopy held by four posts, borne by parishioners or altar servers. Publicly proclaiming and reaffirming their devotion to the Holy Eucharist, the entire congregation walked around the church and its grounds to the sound of bells and voices singing sacred hymns. The procession then walked and sung its way to the first of the altars. There the Blessed Sacrament rested while the parish kneeled to pray and sing in adoration of the Holy Eucharist. The procession then continued on in the same manner to the other altars until it was finished. Maybe I did this before in my youth but I don't remember it. It was interesting for me to experience this again. When I lived in Spain for two years it was also a very religious country at that time and I did attend some similar processions where they took the statues out of the churches and carried them through the streets of the village.

Later in the afternoon we went to Plac Wolnośći to see the sculptures of the students of Poznań art school. There were two we liked, the big leaf and the split man. We went for a walk around Stary Rynek and then returned home.

Earlier in the morning we went with our friend Zybyszek to look at a flat near Poznań. Actually it's the top of a house that is being rented out. I liked it because it is a private house, no neighbors, cheaper in price and would have given us to be in contact everyday with people who only speak Polish. Unfortunately because it is in the top of the house the ceilings are slanted and really suitable for a person of my height, there are only two rooms plus the bathroom and worst of all, it is next to the military airfied where F-16's fly everyday. We decided not to take it.

Dzień Boże Ciało w Polsce. Wszystko jest zamknięte i to wydaje się jak niedziela. To jest święto religijne masy i procesji. Najbardziej ważny rytuał Bożego Ciała jest Procesja. Dla tego zdarzenia, cała parafia zebrała się w pierwszorzędnym ubiorze. Procesja była zawarta kleru, specjalnych cechów albo grup, i rodziny. Dzieci w pierwszym komunii ubraniu poprzedziły Błogosławionemu Sakramentowi upuszczającemu róże albo inne płatki kwiatu by tworzyć dywan dla nadchodzącej eucharystii. Ministranci, kler, wybitni obywatele z cechem i sztandary społeczeństwa z jedwabiu, i inni nastąpiły w procesji. Święta eucharystia była się przewieziona w procesyjnej Monstrancji, noszonej przez duchowny. Monstrancja była dalej ochroniona przez wyhaftowany jedwabny baldachim obstawała cztery poczty, noszone przez parafianów albo serwery ołtarza. Publicznie ogłaszające i potwierdzające ich oddanie Świętej eucharystii, całe zebranie przeszło się kościół i jego grunty do dźwięku dzwonów i głosów śpiewających święte hymny. Procesja wtedy chodzona i zaśpiewana jego droga do pierwszego ołtarzy. Tam Błogosławiony Sakrament pozostał podczas gdy parafia klękała pomodlić się i zaśpiewać w adoracji o Świętej eucharystii. Procesja wtedy trwała na w tym samym sposobie do innych ołtarzy aż to było skończone. Być może zrobiłem to przedtem w mojej młodzieży ale nie pamiętam tego. To interesowało dla mnie by doświadczyć tego znowu. Kiedy zamieszkałem w Hiszpanii przez dwa lata to było też bardzo religijny kraj w tamtym czasie i uczęszczałem kilka podobnych procesji gdzie oni wzięli posągi z kościołów i nosili ich przez ulice wsi.

Później po południu poszliśmy do Plac Wolnośći by zobaczyć rzeźby studentów akademii sztuk pięknych Poznań. Tam były dwa, które polubiliśmy, duży liść i rozdzielony człowiek. Poszliśmy na spacer dookoła Stary Rynek i wtedy wróciliśmy do domu.

Wcześniej rano poszliśmy z naszym przyjacielem Zybyszekiem by popatrzeć na płaskiego blisko Poznań. Faktycznie to jest szczyt domu, który jest wynajęty. Lubiłem to ponieważ to jest prywatny dom, żadni sąsiedzi, tańsi w cenie i dałby, żebyśmy byli w kontakcie codziennym z ludźmi, którzy tylko mówią po polsku. Niestety ponieważ to jest w szczycie domu sufity są nachylone i naprawdę odpowiedni dla osoby mojego wzrostu, tam są tylko dwa pokoje plus łazienka i najgorsze wszystkiego, to jest obok wojskowego airfied gdzie F 16 lecą codzienny.
