Protests

Large protest demonstrations took place yesterday across the United States protesting the governments policy of separating children from illegal immigrants trying to get into the country. In almost every major city and town ordinary people turned out to voice their opinions against this policy.

The main rally was in Washington, DC, but hundreds of marches, protests and rallies took place across the country in cities like New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Milwaukee, Denver, Miami, St. Louis, San Francisco and Los Angeles, where crowds called for the immediate reunification of migrant families and an end to family detentions and separations. There were plenty of signs and shirts declaring, "I really do care, do you?"--a dig at the jacket Melania Trump wore while departing for a trip to the southwest border last week.

Here in Poland it was a quiet day of rest and study for Joan and I. She made zucchini soup for dinner, hot this time because the temperature is only21c today so there is no need for cold soup.

 I spoke for 1 1/2 hours with Carmelo earlier, going over Spanish language.

 Duże manifestacje protestujących przeciw polityce oddzielania dzieci nielegalnych imigrantów, próbujących dostać się do kraju, odbyły się wczoraj w Stanach Zjednoczonych . W prawie każdym większym mieście i miasteczku zwykli ludzie wyrażali swoją opinię wobec tej polityki. 

Główny wiec odbył się w Waszyngtonie, ale setki marszów, protestów i wieców odbyły się w całym kraju, w miastach takich jak Nowy Jork, Filadelfia, Chicago, Milwaukee, Denver, Miami, St. Louis, San Francisco i Los Angeles, gdzie tłumy wzywały do natychmiastowego połączenia i zakończenia separacji rodzin. Było wiele transparentów i T-shirtów deklarujących „Mnie naprawdę zależy, a Tobie?” - nawiązujących do napisu na płaszczu Melanii Trump, który mała na sobie podczas wyprawy na południowo-zachodnią granicę.

Tu, w Polsce to był spokojny dzień odpoczynku i nauki dla Joan i mnie. Joan zrobiła zupę z cukinii na obiad, gorącą, ponieważ na dworze jest dziś tylko 21 stopni.
