Dom Seniora

 Gosia arrived on time at 10:00, we packed the car and took a 1 hour 15-minute drive to the village of Wegielnia where Dom Seniora was located in a forest.  The road to it was through a red pine forest with room enough for one car at a time. Surrounding the house was a security fence which Gosia was able to get open after calling the manager. We were greeted at the main door by a young girl speaking English and one of the caregivers. Inside we saw the dining room and then took the elevator to the second floor to meet the manager. She did not speak English. There were some papers for me to sign and I gave them my instructions about Joan's care. 

We went to her room and the caregiver wrote Joan's name on all of the clothes for laundry purposes, The people were very nice. 

After Joan was situated, we went down to have lunch together. The meal was good, actual food, When we were done, I took Joan outside for a little stroll and then returned to her room.

I talked with the physical therapist and he said there is a group therapy session but he would also work individually with Joan to get her standing and walking again.

Finally, at about 15:00(3 PM) I had to leave Joan to return home and prepare for my stay in the hospital.

If all goes well, I will write again on Saturday.

Gosia przyjechała punktualnie o 10:00, zapakowaliśmy rzeczy do  samochodu i jechaliśmy 1 godzinę 15 minut do wsi Węgielnia, gdzie w okolicznym lesie znajduje się Dom Seniora.  Droga, na której było wystarczająco dużo miejsca na jeden samochód prowadziła do obiektu  przez czerwony sosnowy las, . Dom otoczony był płotem, który Gosia mogła otworzyć po telefonie do kierownika. W drzwiach wejściowych przywitała nas młoda dziewczyna mówiąca po angielsku i jedna z opiekunek. Wewnątrz obejrzeliśmy jadalnię, a następnie wjechaliśmy windą na drugie piętro, aby spotkać się z kierowniczką. Nie mówiła po angielsku. Dostałem do podpisania kilka dokumentów i przekazałem im moje instrukcje dotyczące opieki nad Joan. 

Poszliśmy do jej pokoju, a opiekunka napisała imię Joan na wszystkich ubraniach, które będą oddawane do prania. 

Po zakwaterowaniu Joan poszliśmy na wspólny obiad. Kiedy skończyłyśmy, zabrałem Joan na mały spacer na zewnątrz, a potem wróciliśmy do jej pokoju. 

Rozmawiałem z fizjoterapeutą, który powiedział, że jest sesja terapii grupowej, ale będzie też pracował indywidualnie z Joan, aby mogła znów stać i chodzić. 

W końcu, około 15:00 musiałem opuścić Joan, aby wrócić do domu i przygotować się do mojego pobytu w szpitalu. 

Jeśli wszystko pójdzie dobrze, napiszę ponownie w sobotę.

Gosia llegó puntualmente a las 10:00, metimos nuestras cosas en el coche y condujimos 1 hora y 15 minutos hasta el pueblo de Węgielnia, donde se encuentra el Hogar de la Tercera Edad en el bosque circundante.  El camino, en el que había espacio suficiente para un coche, conducía a las instalaciones a través de un bosque de pinos rojos, . La casa estaba rodeada por una valla, que Gosia pudo abrir tras una llamada telefónica al encargado. En la puerta principal nos recibió una joven que hablaba inglés y uno de los cuidadores. En el interior, echamos un vistazo al comedor y luego tomamos el ascensor hasta el segundo piso para conocer al director. No hablaba nada de inglés. Me dieron algunos documentos para firmar y les di mis instrucciones para el cuidado de Joan. 

Fuimos a su habitación y la cuidadora escribió el nombre de Joan en toda la ropa que se pondría en la lavandería. 

Después de acomodar a Joan, fuimos a comer juntos. Cuando terminamos, llevé a Joan a dar un pequeño paseo fuera y luego volvimos a su habitación. 

Hablé con el fisioterapeuta, que me dijo que había una sesión de terapia de grupo, pero que también trabajaría individualmente con Joan para que 

Finalmente, alrededor de las 3 de la tarde tuve que dejar a Joan para ir a casa y preparar mi estancia en el hospital. 

Si todo va bien, volveré a escribir el sábado.
