Shopping day today, spent 140zl for the week. Higher than normal because we bought a small bottle of vodka, raspberry syrup and tobasco sauce to try out the Polish flag drink.

I put the syrup in the refrigerator to get it to thicken a little before using it tonight and I think that made it easier to pour into the side of the vodka glass. As you can see I didn't fill the glass all the way up, it would have been too much for me or Joan. It was a very unusual drink. The tobasco sauce immediately makes your throat hot, the vodka passes next without any taste and then the raspberry syrup adds a sweet taste on top of that. You can feel the vodka heating up your throat as it passes into the stomach and at the bottom they all mix together. We had one each, as an experiment and most likely these ingredients will sit on our shelf a long time before we try it again. It was only a test, not a habit forming incident.

Our DVD player has decided it wants to take a vacation on certain films we have and won't play them anymore so it was necessary to take it into a shop for repair. It's only two years old and it seems that it's a little early for it to breakdown but that's what is happening. The service man will call back next week and tell us what can be done to repair it or if it is unrepairable. It's too bad because one of the DVD's we got for Christmas was called "The Point". It's our all time favorite animated cartoon from the 60's and we had been looking forward to watching it again tonight. If you haven't seen it, you should. It's great!

We've finally made the Skype connection with Joan's kids and grandkids for the last two weeks and it's great to see and talk with them instead of just emails and chatting. I put together this little picture of Joan, her daughter, Karen and granddaughter, Nikki.

The government has changed the medical system a little now in Poland. Last year, if you needed a prescription refilled, you just called the receptionist, gave your name and what you needed and then the next day you could pick it up. As of the 1st of January, 2010, you have to make an appointment with the doctor every time you need a refill. I don't know if this is good or bad. It seems like the doctors will have more time filled with people just neeeding refills and not necessarily consultations or help.

Mieliśmy po jednej, jak i doświadczenia tych składników będą siedzieć na półce długo zanim spróbować najbardziej prawdopodobny. To był tylko test, a nie zwyczaj tworzenia zdarzenia.

Nasz odtwarzacz DVD postanowiła chce wziąć urlop na niektóre filmy mamy i nie grają już tak trzeba było wziąć to pod sklep do naprawy. To tylko dwa lata i wydaje się, że to trochę za wcześnie na to, aby podział, ale to co się dzieje. Człowiek usługa będzie oddzwonić w przyszłym tygodniu i powiedz nam, co można zrobić, aby ją naprawić lub jeśli jest to unrepairable. Mamy wreszcie Skype związku z Joan dzieci i wnuki za ostatnie dwa tygodnie i to wielki, aby zobaczyć i rozmawiać z nimi, a nie tylko e-maile i rozmowy. I ułożyła ten mały obrazek Joan, jej córka Karen i wnuczka, Nikki.

Rząd zmienił system medyczny trochę teraz Polska. W ubiegłym roku, jeśli potrzebne receptę, po prostu nazywane recepcjonista, dał swoje nazwisko i to, co potrzebne, a potem następnego dnia można go podnieść.
