On April 17th, an acquaintance of mine is producing a festival of finger-style guitar playing in the Blue Note Jazz club in Pozna艅. It is a style of playing that was made famous by the legendary American guitar player, Chet Atkins. This style is still relatively unknown in Poland and the idea of the festival is to acquaint more people with it. Starting at noon there will be a competition of local talent to find the best amateur player attending. This competition will be judged by several people of which I will be one.Following the competition will be a work shop and then in the evening a concert will be given by the best players in Poland, including one who is currently living in London. I think it will be a nice event and one to look forward to for me.
