In Pozna艅, they celebrated Ukraine's Independence Day
Several hundred people walked through the streets of Pozna艅 on Thursday, in a march on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day.
The march on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day began at Adam Mickiewicz Square. It passed through the main streets of Pozna艅 and ended in a park in the old Warta riverbed, where a picnic was held. Many of the people who took part in the march were Ukrainians who had to flee the country before the war. As they said, on such a day they would prefer to celebrate in their hometowns. Unfortunately, the Russian aggressor prevents them from doing so. During the speeches before the march, there was no shortage of words of thanks to Poles who helped and still help war refugees. You may have heard of the novel “The Peasants”, for which W艂adys艂aw Reymont was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1924. W艂adys艂aw Reymont grew up in the countryside and later in his adult life spent several years in the village of Lipce, where the novel “The Peasants” takes place.
