I read this on one of the lists I belong to and thought I would pass it on to you......."I just returned from Poland. Several of the parishes will not allow one to view their parish books unless one has a letter with a seal from their home parish. This letter should state that the person is a member of that parish in good standing. Reason for this new decree is that the pastors will not allow members of the Morman church to look at their books. This is due to the Latter Day Saints baptizing Catholics after death into their religion. As Tina told this message board, the Pope has sent letters to all the dioceses stopping the copying of any Catholic records by the Mormans. So just to be prepared, if you are going to Poland bring along your letter from your pastor. Even Poles are required to have this letter."
